Background:
Nick was born to a southern family in Florida, a former member of the United States on Earth. His father was in Starfleet and by the time Nick was 11 years old, he and his father had built a homemade shuttlecraft. Although it ended up crashing, it got off the ground. His mother was a doctor, moving from Starbase to Starbase and his father was a Starfleet Captain, always in a different part of the galaxy. He and his brother, Mark, usually stayed with their mother on a Starbase, but loved the chance to go out exploring space with their father.
When Nick was 14 he didn't want anything else other than to enter Starfleet, and both his mother and father were proud of him when, at 17, he was accepted into Starfleet Academy as an Engineering major. His brother, one year younger than him exactly, followed him into the Academy. Nick has strong ties with his family, they keep in touch often and make regular visits to each other.
Four years at the Academy passed quickly and soon newly commissioned Ensign Nicholas Sharp was assigned to the USS Premonition under Captain Alexander Swift as an Assistant Engineering Officer. Nick rose to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade in this position and when the Chief Engineer was promoted and reassigned, Nick was promoted to Lieutenant and Chief Engineer. Aboard the Premonition, Nick gained the rank of Lieutenant Commander and soon Commander. Captain Swift transferred him out of Engineering Department and into the Command Department as Executive Officer of the USS Premonition.
The USS Premonition was finally destroyed, and after Captain Swift's trail, Nick continued in smaller, shorter jobs around the Fleet. But when the civil war erupted between the Federation and the Coalition of Allied Planets, Nick was recalled into the battle section of the Fleet, the Starfleet Tactical Force. He was reunited with his old friend and captain, Alrexander Swift, now a Fleet Captain. Nick was promoted to Fleet Commander and took over as XO under Swift again, this time on the flagship of the Fleet, the USS Incursion. Captain Swift soon went off to bigger and better things as a Commodore and Nick, now a Fleet Captain, took over command of the Incursion hoping to make the Incursion not only the flagship, but Pride of the Fleet.
