I have lived and fishing in Ireland for the past 35 years, fishing a fair few of the Irish Loughs for wild brown Trout, also a number of the rivers for Brown Trout, Dollaghan, Sea Trout and Salmon. My first love is fly dressing and tying traditional Irish Lough flies. Last year I finished developing my range of woven nymph patterns, CDC Wulff’s and the new range of Dabblers. This year I completed my dedicated fly tying studio in the converted garage which now enables me to cater for up to 6 students for fly tying classes. I have been demonstrating dressing Irish patterns at the major fly dressing venues in Ireland England and Holland. I am currently tutoring students preparing for their A.P.G.A.I. exam next year. Lawrence Finney New Flies for November/Dec 08 Edition Instructional Videos Previously Submitted Flies This site is primarily a Salmon, Steelhead, and Sea-Run Cutthroat fly site, but I was so impressed with Lawrence Finney's trout flies, I thought it would be worth the readers' time to take a look at some of them. Click on the following link to open up an album of a few of his trout flies, in particular the intricate the nymphs with the intricate weaving along the abdomen. |
