This is when you can get a little more detailed with the Modern Witchcraft movement.  Give a few more details about the life of Gerald Gardner and his affect on Wicca, and then move on to other important members of Pagan history.

Raymond Buckland (1934-)

Raymond Buckland is the one responsible for bringing Wicca to America.  A friend of Gerald Gardner, in 1962.  He and his wife immigrated to the United States and started their own coven.    He started a new Wiccan Tradition in the late 1960's called "Seax-Wica".  He started writing about Wicca in the mid-1960's and has since published many books on the subject such as: Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft, Practical Candleburning Rituals and Witchcraft From the Inside.

His personal website can be found here.

Laurie Cabot (1933-)

Laurie Cabot is the "Official Witch of Salem", a title granted to her in 1977 by the Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis.  Unfortunately, this title also granted her much ridicule from the general pagan population.  However, she has done much to push the paganism into the public eye.  She has written several books such as: A Witch in Every Woman and Power of the Witch:
The Earth, the Moon, and the Magical Path to Enlightenment
.
She is still active in the Craft movement and her web page can be found here.

Scott Cunningham (1956-1993)

Scott Cunningham is one of the single most famous people in the modern Wiccan movement.  He wrote more than 30 popular books on the subject, and is still considered today one of the foremost authorities on Solitary Wicca.

He was introduced to Wicca during high school when he caught the attention of a fellow student.  She became his first teacher.  He lived a life that followed the Goddess closely, and has made a huge, positive impact on modern Wicca.

Some of his books include: Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner, Living Wicca, Earth Power, Earth Air Fire Water, The Truth about Witchcraft Today, Cunningham's Complete Encyclopedia of Magickal Herbs and Magical Herbalism to name just a few.

He passed to the Summerland on March 28, 1993 after a long illness.

Starhawk

Starhawk wrote one of the most widely read books on Wicca: The Spiral Dance.  Almost every wiccan person that I've spoken to has read this book.  It's an excellent read.  Starhawk is very active in the pagan community and is the co-founder of the Reclaiming Coven, a highly influential branch of Wicca.  Her home page is found here.

Silver RavenWolf (1956-)

Silver RavenWolf has written about 18 books on the subject of Wicca, including To Ride a Silver Broomstick, To Stir a Magick Cauldron, To Light a Sacred Flame, Teen Witch and The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation Solitary Witch to name a few.  Her writing style is warm and friendly which is one of the reasons why she is such a famous author.

Ms. RavenWolf is the Clan Mother of over 30 covens in 11 states for the Black Forest Clan Tradition Wicca.  It is a blend of Euro-Wiccan, drawing on influences of Ms. SilverWolf's German heritage, Gardnerian training, Seax-Wica training and Calendonii training.  Her home page is found here.

All of the above people and many more whom I haven't mentioned have made a positive impact on the Modern Wiccan movement.  Your children will enjoy learning more about them, and it will enrich their lives immensely to know about these important people.
