Classes are held online and continue weekly for one year. The Practical Spirituality Course fulfills all of the PS 100 and PS 200 credits required for entrance to Practitioner Level studies, Ministerial studies, and degree programs offered by Emerson Institute, i. e., Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Religious Studies as well as the requirements for licensing of Practitioners and Ministers of Religious Science.
This course is
based primarily upon the six volume text written by Ernest Holmes published last
in 1984 entitled, Change Your Thinking, Change Your Life, A Practical Course
for Successful Living and consists of 48 lessons which incorporate materials
from a variety of New Thought sources as well as ancient scriptures. Further
readings come from Emerson's Essays, Pioneers in New Thought by
Rev. Tom Sannar, The World's Religions by Huston Smith and the Philosophy
of Jesus by Ernest Holmes. Additional short readings come from Emmet
Fox, Joel Goldsmith, Raymond Charles Barker and other New Thought Luminaries.
The course will be held in a chat location to be
announced upon registration, which will be available for participation by Web TV
users as well as all other internet users. The online portion of the class will
take two hours, once per week and the course will also require brief written
responses to questions contained in the weekly course materials which are to be
e-mailed to the instructor prior to each class.
