The Vision of Escaflowne
The story begins with Hitomi, a 15 year old high school student. Hitomi is part of a track team and during a race she has a terrible vision. She faints and when she awakes, sees Amano, her track team leader and the person who she has a crush on. They chat and then later she challenges him to a race, if she manages to beat his time then he will give her her first kiss. He accepts, but during the race the same boy that was in her vision, wearing armor and having a sword, appears in front of her.
This boy is Van Fanel from Fanelia that arrived on Earth from a shot of light. He doesn't know how he got to Earth. All he knows is that he has to kill the dragon that is pursuing him. The dragon somehow also appears to Earth and Van tells everyone to run and leave him alone to face the dragon. While he is trying to hold it back, Hitomi has another vision. Van getting killed by the dragon. She warns him, and Van dodges and kills the dragon. He cuts open the dragon to retrieve an energist. Suddenly another shot of light appears taking Van and Hitomi away.
Hitomi awakes and finds herself on Geia, a planet where you can see the moon and the Earth from the sky.
