yea, the girl who seemed like a bitch to most of you, at least to the people who were not her fans, does have a heart. during the series, there were a few men who would act as competition to other boys who are seemingly interested to our adorable, if only misunderstood, yui.
tamahome
just a side comment: when i first saw the anime i actually had a crush on this guy. of course he just had to make tehe mistake of falling for miaka. ^^;;
anyway, truthfully, i don't think yui ever really loved loved tamahome. as a matter of fac, i think she came close to hating him. huh? see, there's the miaka factor. if there is anyone who will be her competiton for miaka's love, it's tamahome. especially when she heard miaka telling tamahome that she came back to the book world only for him. although, she made herself belive that the person she hated was miaka. in mind that she hated the suzaku no miko [i believe that part of her loathing for miaka was imposed to her by nakago], she embarked on her conquest to hurt miaka in any way that she can. knowing that tamahome is very important to miaka, she knew that if she would be able to have tamahome for herself, it would terribly hurt miaka. it did not work though, as she was the one who ended up getting hurt.

like i said, i never really did finish the series or watch the OVAs. but according to my sources, both from the internet and fom some of my friends, i know that yui ended up with this guy. not enought to share my opinion on the two of them being together though...gomen!
nakago
now, nakago is one screwed up guy! yea, i know he has his own horrid past...anyway, don't take me wrong,i think nakago's a cool guy. all the seiryuu seishi are cool [with the possible exception of amiboshi who actually fell for miaka ^^;;], it's just that nakago's screwed upness adds to his coolness. yea, i know, crazy...anyway, nakago is definitly the master of manipulation. and yui was one of his victims.he manipulated yui into thinking that she can trust no one but him. that no one cared for her but him. and as yui neede someone badly, she believed him. but the closest to love that yui will feel for nakago is respect. and nakago for yui? maybe respect also, but in truth, he only used her for his own dreams.
