One thousand years ago, Princess Serena lived on the moon with her mother, Queen Serenity, in the moon kingdom. The princess was in love with the Earth prince, Prince Darien. After the Negaverse, headed by Queen Beryl, attacked the Moon Kingdom, Queen Serenity used her moon wand to send everyone to Earth to live life a thousand years in the future. With her dying breath, she sent two guardian cats along with them. They were instructed to activate the Sailor Scouts, should there be any signs of the Negaverse on Earth. Serena is realized to be Sailor Moon by Luna, one of the guardian cats. Although Luna doesn't remember everything, she tells her about her duty as the agent of love and justice and enemy of the Negaverse, Sailor Moon. And so, with Luna's help, Serena begins to fight for her cause and search for the long-lost princess of the moon, who is later realized to be Sailor Moon all along. Serena is somewhat ditzy. She is also clumsy, a poor student, and a crybaby. However, this only enhances her character as Sailor Moon. Although she is far from being the strongest of the Senshi, being the smallest of those her age and olderl, she possesses a love for humankind that always saves the day, she also possesses the Imperium Silver Crystal. Her strength of heart wins her the love of Darien and the deserving role of the future Neo-Queen Serenity. She becomes stronger and more secure of her role as the series continues, but she is always there for a good argument with Raye and comic relief for the others. |
