At first in the series, Darien is depicted as being hateful towards Serena and a bit mean. He has no memories of his childhood, since he was in a terrible car crash that killed his parents. As the series continues, we start to see the chemistry between them, and eventually we find out that in the Moon Kingdom, they once loved one another. After this revelation, the two remember that time and fall in love once more. Tuxedo Mask has been with Sailor Moon since day one. His encouragement and help has pushed Sailor Moon into destroying enemies and gaining confidence. After their memories were revealed, Queen Beryl abducts Darien and erases his memories. For several episodes, he fought against Sailor Moon but never really tried to hurt her. After he regains his memories, Beryl attacks him, causing him to lose his memories in the first part of Sailor Moon R, the Doom Tree series. As Tuxedo Mask disappears, the Moonlight Knight appears, later revealing himself as Darien. He mentions that although Darien had no memories, part of himself had to protect his love. Later in the series, it is revealed that he would become King Endymion of Crystal Tokyo. |
