Task 1

Sage was left alone. He desperately wished for light. He thought of his armor but felt that the situation was not that desperate yet. Sage walked slowly through the basement, scooting his feet in order to feel for obstructions, and feeling walls and old boxes with his hands. His foot came in contact with the bottom step. With a small sigh of relief, sage made his way carefully up the stairs.

Sage opened the door and tied to decide where to look first. He decided to head toward the kitchen where the first disappearance occurred. As he drew closer to the kitchen he could see that the refrigerator was open and that someone was chowing down on a huge bowl of cold rice. Sage entered the kitchen.

"Mm, humph, mm, yum." the figure munched on the rice greedily. "Boy do I love rice. I wish Chi-chi cooked this good." Sage noticed that the figure was dressed in orange with blue belt and boots. The fridge closed.

"Hi, I'm Goku. I guess your here to earn a letter," Goku talked between chomps. "Let's see, okay, for your challenge you have to go out and get me 10lbs. of noodles." Goku continued to munch.

"That's it?" asked Sage.

"Yep,"

"Alright," Sage headed outside, hoping that Mia didn't mind him using her jeep. Sage headed toward the spot where the jeep usually stood when he realized that it wasn't there. White Blaze appeared beside him.

"Hey buddy, willing to give me a ride?" White Blaze purred affectionately and Sage hopped on his back. White Blaze sped toward town.

The winding road made Sage drowsy. Noodles? This is supposed to be a challenge? A car passed the opposite side of the road blinding Sage with its bright headlights. White Blaze sped forward and the town grew closer.

Sage yawned and leaned into White Blaze's fur. He never noticed how soft the tiger was. Sage dozed off. As he dozed he slowly slipped to White Blaze's side; the tiger took no notice. Sage slipped off of White Blaze and rolled to the side of the road. His sleeping form teetered on the edge of the cliff. White Blaze lifted his nose, sniffed the air, and continued to run.

Images entered Sage's mind, mostly Japanese Animation. Forms from Tenchi Muyo to Tomb Raider swirled in colored clouds. A car passed by. The bright headlights woke Sage but his eyes remained closed.

"Morning already?" grumbled Sage, "Hey Mia, wake me in five minutes!" he called, and rolled over. This roll was successful in waking Sage completely because it lead him over the cliff.

"Aaaaahhhh!!!!" Sage's hand scraped the side of the side of the cliff as he clutched for a hold. His fingertips caught a strong weed and Sage pulled himself up to the road.

"How did I end up out here?" the game returned to Sage's mind. He climbed to his feet and began to walk toward town. He was definitely awake now. "White Blaze!!" Sage called and whistled for the tiger. "Stupid cat, I'll just walk then. Sage wasn't far and soon entered the city limits. He passed by an electronics' store when he heard something strange on TV.

"A white-Siberian tiger is loose near Dai-Ichi noodle restaurant! I'm here live on the seen and I still can't believe it! The local zoo... Sage wasted no time. He ran to the noodle restaurant and found the tiger raiding an over-turned dumpster with the manager yelling and whacking him on the head with a newspaper.

"White Blaze!" the tiger looked at Sage for half a second then turned to continue his meal. Sage decided to deal with the feline later. He entered the shop to buy 10lbs. of noodles.

"I'm sorry sir but we're sold out. We were going to go across the street to buy more ingredients but all of the employees are afraid of the tiger," a clerk explained, gesturing toward the employees huddled in a corner.

Sage exited the restaurant and went over to the white tiger. "Come on White Blaze," the white tiger, finished with his meal, let out a loud burp and followed the bearer of Halo. They headed toward a pub called Bonsai Noodles but the shop was closed. Next they tried a place called Okasan but they only sold rice. Most other shops were closed. Finally they came to a small shop with peeling red paint, humming lights, and a number '8' written in Kanji. "Yeah, this is lucky," sage said. White Blaze purred approval and sniffed the air. They entered the shop.

"Welcome to Lucky 8 Noodles, would you like to try our special wheat-noodle combo platter," said a teenaged girl in an almost enthusiastic but tired voice.

"No thanks, I'd like 10lbs. of noodles please," Sage said.

"10lbs, of noodles, that will b-b-b," the girl noticed the tiger for the first time, "AAHH!!"

"Calm down, he's harmless, see," Sage held his hand out to White Blaze and the tiger licked his fingers.

"Oh, okay," the girl was still scared but began packaging the noodles. "That will be 2500 yen,"

"Oya ma! That much for noodles," Sage was glad of his present from the Ancient, 10,000-yen. He dished out the money. "Thank you and come again," said a suddenly awake voice. The girl smiled as she counted the money.

"Lucky?" Sage said, "lucky they get any business," Sage hopped on White Blaze and they rode to Mia's house, Sage walked into the house with White Blaze close behind. He walked into the kitchen to see Goku snoring with his face in the rice bowl. Goku snorted and woke.

"Took you long enough," Goku sniffed the air. "Those smell great, I'd give you an extra letter if I could but since I can't here you go," Goku gave Sage what looked like an 'i' but it was pointy below the dot.

"Hm," Sage turned the metallic red 'i' around in his hand. "Strange looking."

Goku happily took his noodles and began digging in the fridge and mumbling about soy sauce. Sage left the room.
