Marriage of Isaac Davis (Occupation: Metal Dealer) to Esther Melhado in the Jewish religion in a Synagogue both living at 63 East Street Walworth.

1884

Death of Leah Melhado born 1814 Holland spouse Elias Melhado was recorded in the first quarter of 1884 at Mile End, London, Middlesex. Buried in The Novo Cemetery 10th March 1884 - Grave 134/20 Serial 8454 13Ad5644.

1891

Patient: Elias Melhado 76 born Amsterdam

Elias died the following year in 1892 aged 78 so I assume his birthday must have been after the 1891 census was collected and before 30th May meaning he was probably born in April or May. (Extract from the burial records of the Spanish and Portugese Jewish Congregation). He was buried in The Novo Cemetery at Mile End on 30th May 1892 - Grave No. 150/8 Serial 9049, 4Si5652

The Nova Cemetery was cleared and some graves reinterred in Dytcheys, Coxtie Green, Essex with the remainder locked inside the grounds of Queen Mary College.

1901
Esther becomes Hester on the 1901 census. More on the Davis Tree Here, with as much as I know to the present day.
