GALLERY OF STAMPING STYLES, 2013

January 2013 used the same front stamp as the previous month; the classic red three-liner. On the back the "Tombstone" stamp also continued, but not the red circle stamp. The back margin had "HELP ME, SPOCK!" in green.

For February 2013, the blue "Tombstone" is on the front along with the round stamp in blue around the Treasury seal. On the back we used the red "Tombstone" stamp, with "PLEASE REPORT SIGHTINGS" in purple.

The blue "Tombstone" continued on the front for March 2013, this time by itself. On the back "PLEASE REPORT SIGHTINGS" in purple also continued, along with the classic three liner in a lighter purple.

For April 2013, we acknowledged the Canadian rock group April Wine by having their logo with the Dave Anderson stamp on the front in purple. On the back we have the aftermarket WG 3-liner in red, with "BABY DONE GOT SOME SOUL!" in orange on the back. Bills with this marking style were entered and released in downtown Las Vegas.

May is Bachman-Turner Overdrive month, and so for May 2013 the Dave Anderson stamp with the BTO logo in red returned to the front. The back featured a "Tombstone" stamp in blue, with the back margin mesasge "TAKIN' CARE OF BUSINESS" in green.

For June 2013 two stamps were used on the front. To the left of George (as we face him) is the "Tombstone" stamp in blue while over the Treasury seal we had a circular stamp in red. The back had an aftermarket stamp in purple, with the back margin message "HELP ME, SPOCK!" in orange.

The "Tomstone Red" returned to the front for July 2013. The back used the same aftermarket stamp as the previous month, except that the color changed to black. The back margin message was "PLEASE REPORT SIGHTINGS" in orange. Bills with this design were released in Gila Bend AZ, Quartzsite AZ, Mojave CA, San Jose CA, Arvin CA, Lake Havasu City AZ, and Parker AZ in addition to Tucson as that Sheila and I took a road trip that month.

August 2013 saw the return of the Dave Anderson in red, with "PLEASE REPORT SIGHTINGS". The "Tombstone Red" moved to the back, where it was joined with "TAKIN' CARE OF BUSINESS" in orange for the back margin.

For September 2013, the Dave Anderson stamp in purple (last used in November 2008) was featured on the front. The back that the round stamp on the left and the Tombstone red on the back. The back margin message was "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER" in purple.

The October 2013 front markings repeat the style used earlier this year in June. The front used the Tombstone blue with the round stamp in red around the Treasury Seal. On the back, the classic red three-liner was featured along with "HELP ME, SPOCK!" in brown. Some bills with these markings were entered in Portland OR, and released there.

For the first time, the November 2013 bills are sporting a new style! I decided to use some stamps purchased from the previous month's visit to Stamp Connection in Gresham, OR. The front markings contain the "balloon" stamp in purple, along with the round stamp around the Treasury seal. On the back, we have the first time use of the "band" stamp, with the URL in red in the top margin. The bottom margin, in red, is "CURRENCY TRACKING PROJECT". Needless to say, I was excited to be doing something new! And, I've already got a new custom stamp picked out for next month!

The new custom stamp ordered last month made its debut for December 2013. It's the Dave Anderson stamp, but features the US Route 66 shield. On the back another custom stamp from 2010 was used in red, along with "BABY DONE GOT SOME SOUL!" in the back margin in green. Bills with this style were also entered and released in Gila Bend AZ, Mojave CA, and San Jose CA.
