Clear, a bit cold, but the morning's snow has gone.
An interesting day! We woke up very, very late today and then went out for lunch. Before we had lunch we took our films to the camera shop to be developed, and picked them up afterwards. We bought some groceries and some Japanese New Year Decorations. When we came home, Fumihiko put them up, and I put away the groceries.
Then, we went out again to buy kerosene and for Fumihiko to go to a chiropractor. Well, the place we went to was already closed, so he couldn't get his back seen to. Poor guy has been in pain since last night. Sigh.
We went for dinner to Moundon, the Korean izakaya that we go to sometimes. We had bulgogi, and a bunch of other dishes which were all very nice.
After dinner, Fumihiko asked me if I wanted to go to the mall. I didn't really have any plans anyway, so I said sure! We went there with the purpose of just wandering around so we did that for a while and decided to leave. We got in the car and started driving away when we realized we hadn't even looked at the movie listings! We drove around, looked at them and realized that we could stay late and see The Last Samurai.
So, we went into the mall again! We went to Seattle's Best Coffee and had coffee or chai, then played a few coin games. I ran out of coins so ended up playing the grabbing games. I did quite well, I had beginners luck with the first one I tried and as a result did well at the others too!
Around 8:45 we left to see the movie. I bought the drinks, Fumihiko got the tickets and we went in. I have to admit that I was quite impressed by the movie. I really enjoyed it. I didn't think that a three hour movie about an American in Japan way back when would be so good, but it was. I didn't notice the time at all. It was a "no looking at the watch" type of movie...high praise for me!
When the movie finished we went to Gusto for a quick bite...I was quite hungry as dinner was 6 hours before! Yikes. For me that's too long. Still, we had a nice meal at Gusto, finished off perfectly by some strawberries and cream. Yum, yum. I was nice and even shared some with my hubby.
Anyway, I'm home now, and I'll have to take a shower fairly soon. It's a bit cold up here in my bedroom, only 10 degrees now, but that's 5 degrees warmer than it used to be! I do hate winter in Japan...it's so cold inside, and warm outside! Bleck.
Gotta go, nighty-night!
