Cold, and a bit rainy.
A good and busy day. I got up just after Fumihiko left and worked on my computer for a bit. Then, I napped. I set my alarm and got up after an hour. When I got up, I showered, ate breakfast and then got busy.
Today I decided to turn out the spare room. It's been my "junk" room for a long time and I wanted to get it into some kind of shape. I sorted out tons of magazines to toss out, threw out old bags boxes and what have you. There's a lot more space in there now (and will be more when the magazines get tossed.) I even made a path to the closet so that Fumihiko if he wants to can use it. I kind of hog the one in our bedroom, although he does have some space!
I did more work on my computer in the afternoon. I made some templates for my homepage and also worked out my favourite books for 2004. You can see my list here.
When I got sick of using my computer I started to clean up the living room. I did a pretty good job and got the kotatsu cleared off, and started on the counter. The problem with the counter is that Fumihiko has tons of his stuff there and I don't know which is safe to junk and which isn't!
When he came home, he didn't notice any of the work I'd done. That was disappointing. We drank coffee then went out for dinner.
We went to M's Dining and had steak and hamburger. It was expensive, but very good. I was very impressed to be honest. The hamburger really did seem like it was handmade and the steak was very tender. A good meal.
We ran off to go to S-Mall. I wanted to get some nice cheese for our day tomorrow. I picked some up, Fumihiko got some champagne (who's he trying to impress?) and of course, beer. I'm going to attempt to make a Greek Salad tomorrow too. I've never made one before so it could be a bit interesting!
We came home and watched the news. I finished up Fumihiko's cards, at least the ones that he had written up. They look gorgeous, but I'm a touch biased.
Fumihiko seems a bit down and he is coughing a lot. I hope he's okay. It's not a good time of year to get sick, there's lots of parties and we're going away soon. Hope he recovers soon.
Oh, one last thing today. I changed the address on my cell phone today. I did it by telephone and it was quite interesting. I called once, was put on hold for 7 minutes and then disconnected! I called back and finally got to talk to a person. It was very interesting. It was done as a party call. I spoke to a bilingual operator, and she relayed everything to the employee of the cell phone company. It was a bit tricky, as giving numbers on the telephone can often lead to mistakes. I noticed when she was telling the man from the cell company my apartment number that she had run it into the street number. I stopped her and corrected her. I don't think she was a native speaker of English, but her English was very good. Anyway, we finally got it all sorted out and at the end of the call she wished me a Merry Christmas and I thanked both of them very much. A very interesting experience, one that I'd never have in Canada!
So, tomorrow is Christmas. I'll try and update a little before I go to bed tomorrow night.
