November 28, 2004 - Sunday

Clear in the morning, some rain in the evening.

A good day. I slept in a bit and then got up and did laundry. I did a couple of loads and then we went to Edoichi for breakfast. I really don't like that place, but Fumihiko does, so that's where we went.

After lunch we drove to Mikawa Mall. It was really crowded and we couldn't find a good parking space. We decided to see The Polar Express, but we had an hour plus to kill before it started. We did a bit of shopping for Fumihiko's trip and then we had coffee.

The movie was great! It was very inventive and fun. I really enjoyed watching it, and so did Fumihiko. Fumihiko really likes the writer/artist of the original novel but he said this version was very different.

After the movie we came back to Tsuruoka and then we bought a few groceries to have dinner at home. We had shabu-shabu and salad, with marscapone cheese for dessert. Yum.

Just before we ate, my heater started acting funny. It switched itself off and wouldn't go back on. So, after dinner, Fumihiko drove to his house to get his heater from our room. I had vacuumed my heater and then unplugged it and plugged it back in. Anyway, it seems to be working now, but I'd rather have two working heaters in my apartment than none!

Fumihiko is in the midst of packing now. I don't think he wants to go, but I'm sure he's going to have a great time. He's a bit worried that he'll have to be a translator for the people on the trip, but most touristy places in Thailand speak Japanese, so he'll be okay!

Anyway, that's my day. It was pretty good. Tomorrow, the big goodbye and then what? It depends a bit on the weather if I'm honest! Gotta go. Night night.
