October 1, 2004 - Friday

Sunny, gorgeous and warm.

We're back! Yay! We had a great time, mostly! Fumihiko left his US cash and traveller's cheques in our apartment, but apart from that, nothing bad happened. We went shopping, snorkelling and eating in Guam. I was a bit disappointed because in the last 4 years Guam has become much more Japan-like. It's hardly like going to another country.

When we came back to Japan yesterday we stayed in Niigata for one night at the Hotel Niigata. I want to give them a big shout as it was a lovely hotel, and they gave us a huge discount for booking on the internet! We'll definitely stay there again. I even got a bonus bag of goodies from them. Yay!

We arrived back this afternoon. We stopped for coffee (me) and pilaf (Fumihiko) at a cafe on the outskirts of Tsuruoka. Both of us have always wondered about the place as it looks very interesting. It's all done up like a ship...portholes for windows, nautical decorations, etc. It's cool.

Fumihiko visited his mum and I caught up on my email. Most of it was spam or my groups, so I hit the delete button a lot.

He took me out for dinner to Bistro des Points in Mikawa. I had fish, which was very nice for a change. He wanted me to eat steak, but I ate a ton of steak in Guam, so I wanted something a bit lighter. Dinner was lovely.

After dinner I took him out for karaoke. We sang a lot of songs and I tried to sing a lot that I've never sung before. I really enjoyed some of my songs, but some I had to stop as they were terribly hard.

We grabbed a few groceries and yakitori before we came home and had a midnight snack. I'm not sure what we'll do tonight. Maybe bed? We're both still pretty tired.

And that was my day today. It was pretty good, thanks. Gotta go, night night!
