October 27, 2004 - Wednesday

Rainy, miserable kind of day.

An okay day here...In Niigata-ken it's a different story. There were many aftershocks today there, and one was almost as strong as the original earthquake. The temperature is dropping too and many people are still sleeping in their cars. I hope the aftershocks stop soon.

In news that's interesting as a Canadian though, the Canadian dollar hit 82 cents a couple of days ago. That's amazing! It hasn't been that high in ages. Nice isn't it!

For me, today, I just did the usual things, mostly. I filled up the slow cooker last night and this morning added two chicken breasts and a can of tomatoes. I left it on the floor. I was worried about leaving the slow cooker on the low table I usually leave in case we had another quake.

Work was fine. My kid's lesson went quite well today. These kids just "get" the lesson. I don't have to spend a lot of time on discipline like I do on the other class. Hurray. They didn't like the song that much though! Neither did I.

After work Fumihiko got me and we came home. I was a little ticked because as soon as he got home he plunked himself down on the sofa and basically waited for me to serve him. Hah. I checked that the chicken was cooked and got him to set the table. He was watching the news too much so I told him to turn off the TV. He did, we made some coffee too, then sat down to eat. (I let him turn on the bilingual news after that though.) The chicken was great. For the first time it wasn't too dry, even though no one stirred halfway through and we cooked it for a long time. Hurray. I guess that was my problem. I was using meat that was cut too small. I'll have to try to get bigger pieces, but it is difficult here.

Fumihiko kindly did the dishes and soon he'll take his bath. He looks exhausted quite honestly. I feel bad for him.

I'm tired too so I'm hoping to get to bed soon. Have a good evening! Night.
