Hot and sunny again!
What a day. I can't believe the kind of day that I had. It was wild and woolly. I woke up drenched in sweat. Fumihiko was already up. We had talked about going to the doctor today about my ankle, but I didn't really want to go. We hummed and hawed about it, but finally went. We had to wait for ages, but then saw the doctor. He offered to X-ray my ankle, but I said no. I didn't think it was broken as I didn't fall or anything. He did give me some of those weird sticky plasters for it. Fumihiko needed to see the doc too, his back was acting up again.
It was getting close to my work time, so we went by the school to turn on the air conditioner, then hit Gusto for a quick lunch. Fumihiko dropped me off and I got the school and myself ready. I had two children's classes today but they went quite well. I was a bit pleased with them.
After classes, I got Fumihiko to pick me up and we went to a shoe store. I told him he needed a pair of nicer new shoes for going on holiday. The pair he wanted to wear is his new work pair and at only 2? 3? weeks old, look old and dirty. No way hon! The surprising thing is that I got 2 new pairs of shoes! I got a cheapy plimsolly kind of thing, and a much more adventurous pair of Coleman shoes. They have some serious grips on the bottom of them, and they're waterproof. Cool. They were a tad pricey, but not too bad.
While I was working, Fumihiko had bought some French bread for me. I'm making garlic toast tomorrow for the barbecue. Ironic isn't it? I can't eat it, but I get to make it for everyone else! NOT FAIR! The baguette was in the car, so we dropped off the bread, the shoes, and the garlic he bought at home. I checked the movie times and we decided to go and see Superman Returns.
We drove out to the mall and got there with a few minutes to spare. Fumihiko got the tickets and I got the popcorn & drinks. In all honesty, I liked the film a lot more than I thought I would. I didn't expect to like the "new" Superman, but I did. Brandon Routh did a very nice job as Ka-El/Clark Kent. You can see my review on my movie page.
After the movie we had coffee at Seattle's Best and then planned to eat in the Genghis Khan restaurant nearby. When we got there, it was closed. Again. Hmm. I wonder why? We then drove into Tsuruoka and went to Benkei. It wasn't very busy tonight and the waitress suggested to Fumihiko that he take advantage of their half price beer offer, so he did. We had a nice meal there, lots of good food, and then came home via Daiko--the drive your car for your service.
At home we've spent hours on our respective computers. Fumihiko's been making a brochure for my school, but I'm not really sure that I want him too! That sounds bad, but I don't mean it like that. I'm just not sure I want that much business!
Well, that's it for me. I've got to make my garlic toast tomorrow and then we'll go to a beach barbeque. I'm nervous because of the sun. I don't like it, and it doesn't like me!
Gotta go, night!
