February 27, 2006 - Monday

Flakes of snow, but it didn't stay. Cold.

A good day. This morning we slept in and then went for lunch at the Daiichi Hotel. It was okay. I did a little shopping at the hundred yen shop...I got plastic place mats. Fumihiko and I had nice cloth ones, but they get dirty so fast and it's a pain to wash them all of the time. Maybe I'll keep the cloth ones for dinner and use the plastic ones for lunch and breakfasts.

We went to look at more possible offices today. Personally, I like the one that we looked at last Monday, but Fumihiko wanted to check out another place. The place is closer and on a main road, but it isn't as nice. We looked at two places. One is downstairs, but it's dirty and needs a lot of work before it could be used. I'd have to paint and fix walls, the ceiling and, it's a little noisy. The upstairs one isn't as bad, but the location in the building isn't good. I pointed out to Fumihiko that parents wouldn't be able to see kids come in the office and I wouldn't be able to check that they were safely with their parents in that area. And, the clincher for me was the Japanese style toilet. I just don't like them, and I'd be the person using it the most.

On the way to the mall, we took down the contact details for another place. The downstairs is huge but upstairs there were two possiblities. The only problem? No toilets! There must be washrooms somewhere in the building for the workers though, right? We checked them out on the internet later that evening. The price is okay, and there's parking too. Maybe we'll see if we can view them close up!

We went to the mall after that. Fumihiko still wanted a massage, and I wanted to shop. I didn't do too much shopping, but I window-shopped a lot! I looked at some wool in the craft section. They had big balls of acrylic for 430 yen. I was thinking of buying 6 balls of it and crocheting an afghan. It might work. Maybe!

We came back to Tsuruoka and had dinner in La Chance. It was really nice tonight too. We both ate quite a lot. Then, we bought groceries and came home.

I tried to order a catalogue on the internet. It's a company that sells business goods, but I couldn't get it to work. I even managed to write in Japanese on my computer, but I couldn't fill out the form so it would work. Finally I gave up and sent them an email, in English! I hope they can understand it.

We watched the cliffhanger of ER tonight. There won't be anymore until April. Oh my. What will I watch on Mondays instead? Fumihiko keeps asking me what happened, but they haven't shown it yet. (I did cheat a while ago and read it on the net, but I'm not telling what I found out!)

And that's it. It's been a good day.Tomorrow Fumihiko is off to work. Now that my bike is fixed I can go out if I want, and if the weather is okay. It was really cold today though. Sigh.

I'm done. Have a good night! Bye.
