Rainy and cool.
I'll start off with my saddest news--my favourite movie critic Roger Ebert is in the hospital in quite serious condition. He's been battling cancer of the salivary gland for a while and after a recent operation had some bleeding. I'm wishing him a speedy recovery. No one reviews a movie quite like Roger Ebert. If he likes it, I'm usually sure I will too. We've only disagreed on movies a few times....but I usually forgive him for being wrong!
In other news, I had a good day! I overslept big time this morning though.Sigh. I got up, showered and checked email and stuff. That was all fine.
In the afternoon I surfed the net a bit and did something new for me. I joined Genes Reunited. I've been a free member for a while but was recently notified of a "hot match" that sounded promising. Another person who signed up had a family member with the same name as one of my family members. The dates and place name were also the same, so it could be that I have a relative that I didn't know about somewhere. Wouldn't that be cool?
I had a lesson to teach tonight so I went over to the school, did some prep and taught the lesson. It went quite well I think. After I prepped for tomorrow's lesson. I have a student starting tomorrow so I had to get things like my receipts almost ready. And I had to check the lesson too.
Fumihiko and I went to Cocos for dinner tonight. I was getting myself a drink at the drink bar when someone came in that I knew. It was hubby's sister! Wow! Big surprise. She was with a group of friends or coworkers but she came over to talk to us for a while. It was nice.
Afterwards we bought ourselves some groceries and came home. We're going to cook tomorrow night's dinner after my lesson. It's a sort of yakiniku/Genghis Khan thing. Should be good.
And that's about that. I was just checking the web to see if Roger Ebert had put up his weekend reviews yet, when I saw the news that he was in hospital. I'm now crossing my fingers and wishing him a big old "thumbs up".
