Rainy and very windy all day.
I had a good day, surprisingly! I got up, well, not early, but certainly earlier than I did yesterday. I did a load of laundry and worked on my computer stuff for a while. When I woke up my mouth didn't hurt. It felt...different. Like I should be careful of it, and that's what I have been doing all day.
In the afternoon, I looked at the clock and realized that if I was going to go out, I'd better get moving. I dressed for the weather and bike-riding. I swapped my wide legged pants for some tapered ones and put on a warmer shirt. I grabbed my Disneyland raincape too. I got outside, garbed for a monsoon, and realized it wasn't raining anymore. Still, the raincape came in handy. It made me a bit like a yacht in the wind. For the entire length of our apartment's driveway, I didn't have to pedal, the wind blew me.
I got to the mall, locked my bike and put it in a spot with no other bikes, then went into the mall, and took off my cape in the doorway. I first went to the bus depot and bought my bus tickets for this weekend. I'm going to go to Sendai to a teacher's convention/expo. I bought the tickets leaving from a place on the highway. I've never got on or off there before, but I will this weekend!
After the ticket buying I visited the ATM, hundred yen shop and then had a bite to eat at a restaurant. It was okay. Not great, but not bad either. I had planned to get a cappuccino after my meal, but decided against it when I saw that it was quite dark outside. I didn't want to bike home in the dark if I didn't have to.
I went outside to get my bike and found it at the bottom of a pile of 3 bikes. The wind had probably knocked it over. I rescued it and was going to ride off when we got a bit of hail. I decided to put my raincape on again. I did, and the hail stopped. It didn't rain for my whole trip home! The wind was coming towards me this time, so it wasn't the most pleasant ride, but I just need to remember that it's good for my legs, right? The bit just outside my apartment was the worst. It's quite open there, not a lot of tall buildings, so the wind really has some force.
I have to say though, how much I loved the wind today. It wasn't a bitterly cold wind, and it just "blew out the cobwebs" so to speak. It was refreshing. However, Hokkaido didn't have a good experience with wind today. There was a tornado that killed at least 9 people today. Our wind was not like that, thankfully.
Fumihiko came home around 6 today and we went out for dinner a bit after that. We went to Cocos and had the "dragon's breath" burger. They have a gorgonzola burger, but I call it the dragon's breath burger as it does terrible things to your breath. We both had it, so are immune from each other tonight!
We picked up a few groceries for tomorrow's dinner. Yes, I'm going to cook, and settled in for a night in front of our computers.
My computer started acting a bit daft, so I ran the disk utility from the start-up disk. While I did that I watched Doctor Who. It was great. It was still creepy, but very interesting, with a good outcome. As the Doctor said, "Everybody lives!" It's been years since I watched Doctor Who, but I find I'm really enjoying this one. I don't know if Fumihiko gets it or not. I don't often let him watch it!
I finally got my computer running again, and then hubby went off to bed. I should go soon as I'm quite tired. I do have to go and teach a class tomorrow. It should be fine, the student is good and we have a nice rapport.
And that's it for me. Night!
