May 2, 2007 - Wednesday

Cloudy and rainy all day.

A pretty good day. I slept reasonably well for a change, and then got up at 9:30. That was quite reasonable for me. I lazed around checking email and such, then after 1 I went out. I went banking! I made a couple of deposits at one bank, then some withdrawals and payments at another bank.

On the way to my school I stopped in at a drugstore for a fancy envelope. They have special envelopes here for cash wedding gifts. I got quite a nice one for my friend's present. When I left the store, I found my bike overturned (probably wind) and then just as I started off it started to pour.

At my school I got busy. I did a load of laundry, some book-keeping and a bit of work. I also worked on my frame again. It's almost finished. I think it looks really cool.

A bit after 4 I decided to come home. I got on my bike and came home via another drug store. At home I spent time on my computer until Fumihiko came home.

When he came home he got all worried because he couldn't find his bag. He has a little leather clutch thing that he keeps his "stuff" in. He couldn't find it. Oh no! Call the police! Set up road blocks. Well, it was almost that bad. He changed his clothes ( only cause I made him) and then he took me out to his office to see if he'd left it there. He had. Whew! We went on to the mall after that. We were looking for a good wedding present for our friend, but in the end didn't find anything that we liked enough to buy for her.

We had dinner in the Cocos in Mikawa. It was fine. When we finished dinner we went over to the bookstore and had a good snoop. I got a new Reader's Digest magazine, and hubby picked up a couple of books. One we'll likely end up sending to Katie. It's about an American girl in Tokyo. Her name is Katie and she learns all about life in Japan. It has katakana and English in it, so might be good for her. (I'm hoping/planning to bring Katie to Japan one day, so I want to make her interested in Japan first.)

We came home via the grocery store and watched a movie. Tonight I picked the film and I chose Sixteen Candles. It was great! I wasn't sure if Fumihiko would like it, but he said that he did. I remembered that John Cusack was in it, but I'd forgotten that Joan Cusack was too. The movie was a blast from the past...the Culture Club posters, the ballet poster of the feet and legs in worn leggings, to Paul Young on the soundtrack. There's a word in Japanese that describes my feelings for this film....natsukashi!

After midnight, we had a bit of alone time, then watched tonight's Without a Trace and had a midnight snack. Okay, it was way past midnight, but....I am supposed to eat before I take medicine and I'd only taken it twice today. That's my excuse today!

There's only one more day before my holiday. I'll probably update tomorrow night, but if I don't for some reason I'll catch you all up again on Monday night!

Have a good one! Night night.
