Cloudy but warm in Tokyo, cooler at home.
Well, hubby and I got back tonight, and I've spent the last couple of hours reading through my email and the blogs of others, leaving me too darn tired to do much blogging tonight.
We had a fabulous time in Tokyo. The wedding was great, and we got to Tokyo Disneyland quite easily and early on Sunday. We even discovered that we could catch a bus from Disneyland directly to the airport, meaning that we didn't have to mess around with changing trains or carrying suitcases very far. Yay. Remind me to tell you about the arriving in Azabu fiasco......sometime.
On Sunday we went to Disneyland. The weather was terrible. We bought new raincapes for ourselves, and got a lot of use out of them. The weather was so bad that hardly anybody came to the park, so we didn't need to line up for hours for most rides. Probably the longest we waited was 10 minutes. We did try a new one for us, Buzz Lightyears AstroBlasters(or something like that). You had to shoot targets while on a ride. It was quite fun.
On Monday, today, we didn't get up too too early. I swear, I got up earlier for my "holiday" than I ever do on a work day! We had breakfast in the hotel and then went to Disneyland by bus. We put our suitcases in a locker and then took the monorail over to DisneySea. We did have an early admission ticket, but we didn't need it because we weren't that early. DisneySea was practically empty today. The places that had FastPass ticketing weren't even using it. The first time we went there the line for Journey to the Center of the Earth was about 2 hours, today, 5 minutes. We got right on. We rode quite a few rides for the first time, including Journey to the Center of the Earth and 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea. We also tried the new ride, The Tower of Terror. VERY aptly named for me. Fumihiko rode one by himself, a rollercoaster that had a 360 degree turn. I'm not into those, so I held his stuff and my breath that he'd make it back safely.
When we left the park, we caught a bus to Haneda, hacked around a bit, then had dinner in West Park Cafe. I had the best hamburger that I've ever had in Japan there tonight. It was perfect. A little flame-broiled, a bit messy, and absolutely delicious. We had a quiet flight home. We were told that there'd be some turbulence but it was nothing compared to the usual bumpiness on this route.
When we arrived we came straight home and then vegged or checked email. We watched ER, and had coffee. That's it. We needed some downtime from our trip.
That's it for me. I'm out of here for tonight. Night!
