Sunny day with some afternoon rain.
A good day. I got up this morning before 9 am, which if you know me is quite amazing! I stayed up too, showered and was watching my TV program before 10 am too. Fumihiko came home a little after 11 and we went out almost right away to have brunch at Gusto.
After he dropped me off, I got the school ready and then waited for my student to come. She came with her mother, bearing gifts. They brought us a small box of persimmons. I was happy to see them, especially because the box was small! With only me and hubby, a big box sometimes goes to waste. We had a really good class and had lots of fun with each other too.
After a break, my next students came. They were, as usual, fun! We had a great time. I took one of the ideas that I got at the Teacher's Expo last month and did a chant using their names. The children really liked that. I've used it in another class too, but the student didn't seem to enjoy it as much, these two really do.
After class, I did a hasty clean up, and put more water on. I was getting visitors. Fumihiko came to help me, and they came a little early...Anyway, we had a good meeting. The person who wants to study was a student at my old school, but was not my student. Things went well, and fingers crossed I'll have a new student in a couple of weeks.
When my visitors left, Fumihiko and I cleaned up...he washed the dishes for me while I bossed him around and changed my clothes. Then we headed out to the mall.
We found a great parking space in front of the exit for after the movie and went into the mall. We ate dinner first and it wasn't bad. I had this thing called Cinderella Gratin, which I didn't understand at first, then I realized that it was half a small kabocha (small Japanese "pumpkin") scooped out and cooked with white sauce and veggies inside. It was lovely. I really liked it.
When we finished eating we went shopping. I was looking for Christmas presents for my friends and my sister's family. I had some success. I was quite impressed with Fumihiko for a change. He found something really nice for my sister...I was looking but not finding things. We grabbed the thing he found and put it in a basket, then we headed over to the children's section. We found some interesting stuff. I found two shirts with such odd English on them that I could hardly explain to Fumihiko why I wouldn't buy them for my nephew. They were both quite cute looking, but.... One proudly proclaimed in big letters under the picture BLIGHT HOPE. I know it's an L & R problem...but somebody, please tell them! The other said in big funky letters at the top "Spunk" which is not really bad in a way...until you read the bottom of the shirt which said something like "gives a yelp of delight". Now, maybe it's just because I have a dirty mind or something, but putting a slang word for semen along with a message about yelps of delight on a t-shirt for a little boy was just not something that I'd want to do. And I certainly wouldn't send it to my nephew!
Anyhoo, we found a cool t-shirt there, and then headed off to Uniqlo. I got something for my niece there. Hurray. A good day's shopping. Then, we picked up some decaf at Seattle's Best Coffee and took our shopping out to the car. We came back in, bought our movie tickets, I got popcorn and drinks....and discovered that the movie didn't start for 20 more minutes! The movie time had gone back 20 minutes in my head. Oh well, at least we were early!
Tonight we saw The Bourne Ultimatum. I really enjoyed it. The action scenes were great, and Matt Damon is very believable as the super spy. The only downer about the movie? A guy in the row behind us was snoring loudly throughout the movie! Any time the film got quiet everyone could hear him snoring away. I wanted to throw popcorn at him, but I'd already eaten it all.
After the movie we came home via the grocery store. We got some yakitori for us and drinks for Fumihiko's Wrestling Club tomorrow. We came home and ate, I made myself a pot of coffee, and now Hubby dearest is snoozing on the couch. He's not as loud as the guy in the movie, which is lucky for him!
That was my day. I'm not sure what we'll be up to tomorrow. Fumihiko was talking about taking a drive in the mountains if the weather's okay. That might be nice.
Okay, I'm done now. Got to go. Night night!
