Clear then rain in the evening, big thunderstorm later on.
Today was okay for the most part. I got up, drank coffee, showered and then got stuck in making Christmas Cards for my students. I made a few for my students and they look quite nice. I'm rather proud of them. It was much easier than making them with stamps.
I went off to my school around 5 tonight and was thrilled that it wasn't raining. However, when I came out of the drugstore, it was raining a little. In the next few minutes that I rode my bike to my school, it started to pour. I didn't stop and put on my rain cape. I probably should have but didn't.
I did my prep for my class and then afterwards did a lot of prep and paperwork. I was still preparing when Fumihiko called me at 9:30. He'd been working late too. He picked me up and we went home.
I was just going to cook dinner. I had asked him to make some coffee. The next thing I knew, I heard water dripping onto the floor under the table...where Fumihiko keeps his computer. I grabbed the computer and got it out of harms way. Apparently he overfilled the coffee pot and the excess overflowed. Well, Fumihiko also keeps a lot of junk and papers underneath the table (PLEASE DON'T ASK ME WHY...I HAVE NO IDEA) so he made a mad scramble to get things out. The strange thing was that instead of thanking me for thinking fast and getting his computer out of the way of the water, he got quite snarky. I don't think he realized what was happening at first. He cleaned up the water with a horrid rag that he keeps hanging around the place.
I started the chicken in the frypan and then noticed that the horrid rag was now sitting on my clean dining table. I was not impressed. He'd just been mopping water up off the floor and then he put the cloth on the table. I asked him reasonably nicely to move the cloth and then to wash the table. The next thing I see is him using that cloth to wipe his placemat. I didn't say anything. I didn't have to, because the look of incredulity and horror on my face said everything. With that, I got the rag thrown to my feet and a storming out to the bedroom by my husband. He even shut the door.
I on the other hand, finished cooking my chicken and then had dinner. I read part of my British Cosmo and had fried chicken with daikon salad. It was rather nice. It was a bit quiet, but I can handle that. I did dishes and settled in for a long evening with my computer.
We've had quite a severe thunderstorm outside in the last 30 minutes or so. It doesn't sound like it's done yet either. It's strange getting storms at this time of year. In Edmonton the big storms were always in the middle of summer, not at the start of winter. I suppose it has something to do with living near mountains.
Anyway, I should get going soon. My shoulder/neck is still painful. I'm thinking that it's a stress related pain, rather than anything that I've done.
I'll talk to you all tomorrow night, most likely! Night night!
