Intrepid Pond at Commerce Park

Thank you to those who contributed to defray the cost of the Intrepid Pond restoration and revegetation project. The member donations defrayed the cost of trees and bushes for the upland area of the pond.

$2500 from the Alliance for the Great Lakes and $1500 from Freshwater Futures was predominantly spent removing invasive plants, purchasing and installing an aeration system, and vegetating the sub-emergent area with native plants.

Our thanks to Ed Sperkowski who removed and winterized the aeration system last fall. He's also gearing up to reinstall this spring.

We will continue to accept memorial and honorarium donations for the purchase of more trees at both the Commerce Park's Intrepid Pond and the Gray's Drive drainage plot. You can use the enclosed envelope or make a donation at our website on the "Donate" page. Be sure to provide us with the name and address of the honoree or family member for memorials, so that we can notify them of your thoughtfulness.
