Wesley & I rescued Samantha from Miami-Dade Animal Control on August 25, 1999. Samantha was extremely sick when we rescued her. She spent 10 days at our vet's office and her medical expenses were over $1,000. She had to have surgery to remove an embedded metal choke collar in her neck, she was only 25 pounds, she was anemic, she was malnutrioned and she had a fever of 104 for 4 days. Her white blood cell count was in the 45.0 and the norm is 13.5 We are pleased to report that Samantha has recovered from all that she has endured in the past. Now, after all the medical treatment, she is healthy and full of life again. She continues to put weight on and currently she weighs about 55 pounds. Her white blood cell count is back in the normal range of 13.5 and she is no longer anemic. Samantha is definately a fighter & had a will to live. Now she needs a permanent home with a family that has nothing but love & time to spend on her. She is a sweetheart. She loves to play, she is best friend's with Max, she is a couch potato and loves attention. She loves to lay in bed with you or on the couch and smother you in kisses. She is current on all her shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm preventative. We prefer her to go to a home without small animals, as she does have a high prey drive. She loves children of all ages and loves other animals. Please email us if you are interested in giving Samantha a good and loving home.
