"It's got sort of a 'Mad Max' vibe to it, It's a futuristic story about a guy who refuses to conform to the new world order."
Garth
"Well Tom was talking about us not working for awhile but when we were working I had a job in a furniture factory and I just sat on a bench and started thinking of a renegade guy in the future of who just didn’t conform after a nuclear holocaust; kind of like that movie Escape from L.A. This guy is just sort of like a lone rider who just breaks off from everything else just doing his own thing and trying to get some justice happening in the future world!"
Garth
Evelyn
Delves into the downward spiral of the human spirit "It's about someone going down a dark path without caring about the outcome. My favorite line in that song is 'A pain invincible makes unpredictable youth,' which paints a picture of a person who dwells so much on the negative, they create their own pain."
Garth
That song is kind of half personal, half fictional. It’s kind of like a broad spectrum of anyone who would or has gone through an emotional spiral or is confused about life and not agreeing with the way the world is run. The line and name of the record, “Headtrip To Nowhere”, is kind of saying that there are ways to preoccupy yourself without thinking about that kind of shit. One of them is to go out there and do chemicals, which, is a “Headtrip To Nowhere”, but it’s more to do with people concentrating on the negative aspects of life and that will kin of fuck with your psyche. That is really kind of pointless because your just sitting there not doing anything about this and all these outside things that are out there destroying you and most of them you can’t really do anything about it. It’s pretty grim song with a hopeful kind of ending giving you hope that you can you get out of this dark room you’ve sort of created for yourself. The title just kind of fit in with the cover art we had and on top of that it’s good when critics want to slam us can they can say “It really is an album to nowhere!” or something like that."
Garth
Crackballs
You really want to know the story behind that one? (Laughs) Actually we were just sitting around and Tom came up with this funky ass bass line and I just put this lazy man’s rap to it, which, is what it really is. I knew I had to tell a story to the song then the chorus comes up and we came up with the line crackballs but we were like “We can’t call the song Crackballs! There’s no way!” So I came up with the rest of the lyrics to the song and in Vancouver, like an other city, there is a place where there is a lot of drug dealers and stuff like that so I wrote this story about a guys who wakes up and decides to take a couple days to go hang out down out and just do what everyone else is doing. The song is just based around his experience down in that part of town. We’re definitely thinking that probably won’t be a single though because it may not go over well with the Wal-Mart crowd."
Garth
Blind World
Thanks to media manipulation, everyone was suddenly concerned about the planet's welfare, On New Year's Day, people actually seemed disappointed that there were no earthquakes or mass destruction the night before. They acted as if they'd been ripped off. It was ridiculous."
Garth
Untill you read Garths statments your not quite sure what aspect of the world there commenting on, or if there just commenting on the world in general. It makes me think of Bif's Violence "Did you ever stop and think about the world as is? Life's about living Can't believe it's come to this" It's a great song though.
When are you (Gonna Die)?
This is a "get me out of this fucking relationship" song. "Leave me alone with my life" is the line that I think defines this sond the other party being sung about in this song isseems to be fucking with the singers head
Weapon
I think that who ever the song's about is insaine or on there way, but that's not alway's a bad thing. This is one of the best song's they do live. I've seen them do this song when I was pressed up against the stage with 300 people in a club ment for 200 trying to get close to the band, and I've seen them do the song out in a field with people who were just kinda standing around and EVERYBODY ALWAY'S freaks out when this song is played (those who know flybanger and those who don't)
Demon Away
This song leaves you with an almost hopless feeling "I'm just a demon away"
This is Bliss
I think this is a song of hope. I've seen the worse I've done the worse I've been through hell, it's going to get better because it can't get any worse.
(JAT) **The way they repeat the like "been a long time" almost reminds you for that Led Zepplen song
Outlived
This song is very special to anyone who was at the show's in Winnipeg when they were recording the video. For about six months afterwards I would go around and write I will out live across various parts of my body.
OCEAN
This one's a point of view from someone who needs help coping with everyday life but cannot accept they're reality. The person observes a friend, who keep's hurting themselves to escape the fact that they may have a mental or emotional disorder. The observers feel themselves being pulled in deeper. Deeper into the metaphor showing that without proper help or acceptance of a hazardous disorder, life is like falling into a deep, bottomless ocean.

DEAD STAR
After we parted ways with our label, there was a period of time when things looked pretty grim. The verses to this song are a direct reflection of how I felt and how I thought the rest of the band felt of our situation. Feeling somewhat stuck in neutral after riding the touring highways in full gear. "I don't want to wish on a deadstar" means: no more putting our trust and hopes in the wrong hands. "I'm just gonna keep on walkin, try to keep the fools from talking" is about us rising above all the rumors and doubt's that had spread. The chorus is about us realizing what we have and not letting up for anyone. "I'm breaking this whole world apart, cuz I'm over this one" summed up means your all going to see and hear much more of Jarr in the near future.

Nobody
We all know the world is full of problems and that one-day we will have to change how we live to save the human race. "Nobody" is very ironic because I believe 90% of this planet does "understand" and does know what "keeps us awake", we are just too scared to do what is right to change.

Lifer
Ever had the shit kicked out of your hopes and dreams? We sure have at times. The bottom line is to stick to your guns and don't compromise your dreams for anyone- that's a lifer. And a lifer always makes it through in the end.
-Garth
DEVICES
Two people who can’t shed they’re shady past want so badly to be together but know it could be a destructive courtship. “Devices” are the tools of a broken world that keeps these persons down. To the point that they can’t let society know that they have something between them. They continue to torture themselves by giving in to the devices that have kept them from openly being together.

DOWN THE MIDDLE
Down the middle Basically this song is about the fine line between moving on to a better, stronger life and staying in the same doubt full and unfulfilling existence…stuck right down the middle.
