Urban Lounge Edmonton
When I saw Jarr (then Flybanger) play at the Urban Lounge in Edmonton last year, Tommy accidentally smacked Garth in the face with his bass. Garth, in a daze, handed the microphone duties over to myself and another guy, who thankfully knew all the words. Looking at Garth, blood began pouring down his face from a cut above his eye. He managed to finish the song before one of the crew threw him a towel, but not before getting blood on my Flybanger sweater and I assume a few other people in the crowd. After cleaning himself up a little, he hollered that if he had to get bloody on any crowd, he was glad it was Edmonton. Still bleeding, Garth finished the whole set before seeking some makeshift medical attention. He still managed to make it out to sign autographs and talk to all the fans, despite the injury. That was a time I'll never forget.

Well, I just saw Flybanger last night for the very first time and I can say only good things about those guys. One being that they put alot of energy into their performance and they made lots of connections w/ the fans. They gave it their all and really got into it. I must also say that they are TOTALLY down-to-earth and sweet so I'm definitely going back for more :)

Murphy's Law states that if you plan for a thing to be one way, it will, of course, go contrary to your expectations. Well, that's the gist of Murphy's Law, anyway. And that's the way this night went.
All of my friends flaked on me, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from going to see COC, a band that I really like. I drove to the City alone and made it only fifteen minutes after the door was supposed to start. After years of going to see live bands I've learned that they never start on time. This one did.
I walked in halfway through Flybanger's set and immediately liked what I heard. They had energy to their music that sucks you into it. The band is from Vancouver and is really young looking. I found myself commenting with some girls during the break about how cute every member in the band is. Honestly, they're like the alterna-rock/metal's equivalent to a boy band. But they actually played their instruments and played them well. And they all looked like they were having a blast on stage.

Irving Plaza -- New York, NY
Written by Ben Markese
SEPULTURA, VISION OF DISORDER, HATEBREED, and FLYBANGER brought the heaviness this week to the Irving Plaza. Opening the show was Canada's FLYBANGER, who got the crowd going with their brand of hard rock. The band recently became sponsored by Jagermeister and threw free t-shirts out to the crowd. HATEBREED was second on the bill and naturally wrecked the kids. They played two brand new songs: "Unbreakable" and "I Will Be Heard."
Long Island's VISION OF DISORDER blew me away. It is not too often that this dirty long haired metalhead goes moshing anymore. VOD changed all of that with older songs like "Choke," "Element," "DTO," "Viola," "Adelaide," and the new cuts "On The Table" and "Itchin' To Bleed." Once again, they left New York with their jaws dropped. New VOD on TVT coming to you all very soon!!!
As the eager crowd waited for SEPULTURA to take the stage, there was noticable anxiety filling the room. The monstrous presence of Derrick Green took over and the heavy metal played by Igor, Paulo Jr and Andreas absolutely destroyed all of us in attendance. SEPULTURA ripped through classics such as "Refuse Resist," "Troops Of Doom," "Arise," "Attitude," "Territory," "Roots Bloody Roots," (the back breaking closer to their overpowering set), "Beneath The Remains" and the intro to "amen." The pits erupted during new songs "One Man Army," "Vox Populi," "Saga" and of course "Sepulnation," (their opener which set the tone of monstrous pits and pure fist in the air fury for the evening) all of which appear on the new SEPULTURA album "NATION."

The ZOO
I went with a few of my buddys to the Zoo. It was one of Flybangers last shows as "Jar" They were shooting the Video for "Outlived" over 2 day's. Jar came on at 11:00 door's opened at 7:00 so we got there at like 6:45 b/c we didn't want anything to get in the way of us being there on time! People started showing up at about 9:00.
The air was charged, by the time Jar took the stage I managed to muscle my way to the frount, before they even started playing We started moshing and Garth said something to the effect of: Were filming a vidio tonihg we could have filmed it anywhere but we chose to do it here because you are the best adunce in North America! Every one went totaly insaine.
At this point let me tell you teh set up they had at the Zoo, too keep us away from the stage they put up folding tables sideways....Cheap folding tables They lip-synced to a prerecorded Outlived twice before the set started The first song they played was Weapon and before they were half through it we broke the tables that were trying to holding us back.
They did Pull and a very cool version of Evelyn then outlived again. Everyone was SO pumped, crowd serfing;everyone was screaming aling (weither they knew the words or not) and everyone was getting beaten up.
One of the bouncers felt sorry for me and pulled me up on stage for the rest of the set. It was SO great.
They did When are you (gonna die) flybanger 3 lives blind world kiss Company and for the uncore they did Crackballs and then Cavalry
After the show we went backstage and hung out with the guy's for a bit, They were really cool guy's and it was a really great show.

the zoo
my first flybanger show was at the zoo. Man did they kick ass! i couldn't believe it! when they started to play i thought this was just incredible. i've been to a lot of concerts and seen a lot of bands, and i couldn't get over the energy and how interactive they were with the crowd. i was just so amazed. after the concert they signed things for people, including my towel that art had given me(lol). and just talked to them without a fuss. you could totally tell that what they were doing is what they truly wanted to do in life. it just blew me away. they were so nice and just awesome. it was a kick ass concert.
