 When I was just a baby my Mother entered me in
some type of baby contest. She made a costume for
me to wear and walked with me across the stage. I
won First Place and she was so proud! I don't even
remember it but I still have the trophy and it was one of
the first things I drew when I took art at Furman. Art
was one of my favorite classes. My instructor was Thomas
Flowers and he was a very good artist. He was also an
excellent teacher. He didn't like my work all that much
but he did motivate me to work at it with a passion for
art I had never before known. I particularly liked
working with the different mediums. I had never thought
about using melted crayons or aluminum foil as mediums.
The work I did was average at best but it really made me
feel good about myself and I liked it. That was what was
important. The art was not for everyone else. It was for
me. But of course, I hope you enjoy it too. |
