The Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies (HCES) is the umbrella organization of the major engineering societies in the State of Hawaii. The officers and board members of this organization are representatives of each of the member societies and they are responsible for formulating the plans, objectives, programs, and policies of the Council.
Improve and uphold the image, reputation, and integrity of the engineering profession.
Encourage the registration of qualified engineers.
Publish and circulate a monthly engineering newsletter.
Provide a forum for discussing the objectives of the member societies.
Encourage students to pursue an engineering profession.
Prepare and promote the annual observance of National Engineers Week.
Coordinate and support the activities of its member societies.
Support & encourage the establishment of research and development types of industries.
The Bulletin Board is designed to inform and update members of the different societies affiliated with the Council including other individuals about plans, activities, and other concerns which are of general interest to them. The Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies (HCES) has its own mailing list which is accessible at the following URL: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hces. It was created on March 3, 1999 to provide a fast and reliable means of communication between the designated representatives of its member organizations. Subscribers of the HCES Mailing List post their messages to: hces@yahoogroups.com. Since its creation other concerned and interested individuals have also joined the list to keep themselves updated with the latest plans, projects and undertakings of the Council.
