Project Start Date: February 6, 2002 Project Finish Date: April 24, 2002

Project Description: To develop a proposal to expand the existing outdoor playground located on the grounds owned and operated by the UMBC Child Care Facility. All proposed design changes and selected materials must take into consideration three primary factors to include safety, accessibility, and maintainability. The total cost for the playground development project shall not exceed the amount of $2000.00, the amount of state funds normally allotted to the UMBC Child Care Center for this type of endeavor. The completed Playground Development Proposal shall be presented to the UMBC Child Care Center no later than May 3, 2002.

Sponsor's Goals and Expectations: The final proposal will in no way become a binding agreement between the project sponsor and the project team. The sponsor may, or may not, decide to submit proposal for budget approval depending on the satisfactory completeness of the proposal and the current state of the UMBC Child Care Center budget. However, the proposal must include all relevant documentation including costs, benefits, products, materials, project plan, full implementation detail, and all other pertinent material to be delivered to the project sponsor regardless of the decision to pursue the project.

Project Team Goals and Expectations: To learn and understand the responsibilities of running a project at all levels of team participation. To provide a free service that will hopefully have a positive impact on the community and the children attending the UMBC Day Care Facility.

Meeting Information: The project team will meet regularly after class each Wednesday afternoon to take a project status, resolve open issues and to determine and assign task for upcoming week. The project sponsor will be contacted by telephone as necessary to discuss project status or obtain detailed requirements. Personal meetings with the sponsor will be arranged in advanced only when deemed necessary, appropriate and convenient to the project sponsor.
