Agawam defeats Ludlow in opening meet! The 2003 XC season kicked off Tuesday 9/9. The boys were lead by Kevin Clark who finished 2nd overall. The winner, Jesse Regnier of Ludlow, broke the course record with a time of 17:22. He beat Mike DeFilippi's course record by 1 second. Ludlow also had 3rd, 8th, 9th and 10th place to round out their top 5. Finishing in 4th place was sophomore Jay Olbrych in 18:29. Closely behind him in 5th was Chris Tierney at 18:32. Matt Zordani's XC debut garnered him a 6th place finish in a time of 19:24. Sophomore Zach Matys, holding off a Ludlow harrier, just squeeked until 20 minutes (19:59) to finish 7th.
