Agawam gets 8th at PVIAC, Parzich and Andre get top 10

Ben Parzich and Mike Andre got fifth and seventh respectively at the PVIAC championship at Stanley Park. Ben ran to a PR of 16:19, and Mike ran a 5k PR of 16:21 (PVIAC last year was a lot closer to a 3 mile race). If the weather werent so cold, then the time could have been even faster. Their was some space between Those two and the rest of the Varsity, but PR's were abound. Kevin Urban ran an 18:30, with Weston Aselin coming in at 18:33, followed by Dom Groux in 18:35, rounded out by Patrick Rieker at 18:36. Dennis Reardon ran to a PR of 19:08, soon followed by Chad Joyal at 19:20 and Dylan Marshall at 19:24.

Parzich and Andre go first sub 17 in Course History in Season Finale!

Ben Parzich finished off what has easily been one of the best regular seasons in Agawam XC history in grand fashion, lowering his own course record time to a 16:45. It was the first ever sub 17 time on the challenging 3.1 mile course in Robinson State Park. Mike Andre was second with a time of 16:56, which was also beat the old the course record. These two are easily top 10 WMass runners and should ascend to All States with ease. Agawam swept both Belchertown and Palmer. The boys finished the season 7-4.

Parzich sets Course Record! Dustin School Record in Win at Home

Agawam, boys and girls, enjoyed a phenomenal day in a win over Putnam at the home course in Robinson. Benjamin Parzich set the overall course record in 17:01, shattering the old record of 17:02 held by Jesse Regnier and Zach Pietras, and the old home record held by Kevin Clark at 17:09. Mike Andre was second in a course PR of 17:20. Megan Dustin set the school and sophomore course record for the girls in 20:15. The boys are now 3-4, and the girls are 6-1. Top Ten

Agawam faces tough loss to Holyoke at Home

Agawam faced a challenging today in its first home meet of the season in a loss to Holyoke. Ben Parzich came in second for Agawam in 17:20, 3 seconds behind the winning time of Guillermo Rivera of Holyoke. Mike Andre was third in 17:25. Both were course PR's. Jeremy Kapinos had a great race, coming in sixth with a time of 18:43, and setting a course PR by over a minute. Kevin Urban was tenth in 19:19 after having a bout with Asthma. Many set course PR's that day, Weston Asselin set one by a minute at 19:36, Dennis Reardon set an overall PR at 19:44.

Agawam wins against Psy-Tech, lose to Amherst

Mike Andre and Ben Parzich went 1-2 against Amherst, going 17:10 and 17:20. Agawam managed to put 4 in the top ten, Kevin Urban (19:00) and Jeremy Kapinos (19:04) got ninth and tenth. The meet was close to Amherst, 25-33.

Parzich and Andre go sub 17, in loss to Westfield and Minnechaug

Agawam had a tough meet against divisional rivals Westfield, and Minnechaug. The meet was won by Westfield's Tim Dostie, who dominated the 3.1 mile course in 15:58. He was followed by teamates Blake Croteau and Matt Jacobson. Ben Parzich (4th) and Mike Andre (6th) kept the team in the scoring with respective times of 16:37 and 16:50. Jeremy Kapinos (11th, 18:22) and Kevin Urban (12th, 18:24), and Weston Asselin (15th, 18:46) rounded ot the top 5 for Agawam.

D-Squad Runs Well in Postseason

The D-Squad capitalized on their Outdoor season, with Ashley Monahan winning the 800m and Mike Andre ascending to All States in the 800m. He set the new school record of 1:58.91 at the All State tournament.

D-Squad runs to PR's during D1 Championships

The D-Squad made a strong showcasing for the WMass tournament next week. Junior Mike Andre, who throughout the Outdoor season ran the 400m, 800m, Mile and Two Mile ran to a third place finish in the 800m 2:00.67. He is one second off of the 800m school record of 1:59.34. Senior Tyler Roberts, who tied for second in the pole vault at 12-6, also ran the 800m to a tenth place finish in 2:04.08. Ben Parzich ran the mile to an 11th place finish with a time of 4:43.79. Ben ran the mile all season, and has the teams fastest for the season. Matt Montano (soccer player) finished sixth in the 400m with a time of 53.34. He ran this time even after being injured all season. Ricky Schoolcraft finished 9th with a 53.71, and Tristan Cote finished close with a time 53.81. Freshmen Weston Asselin, who throughout the season ran very well in the 800m with a time of 2:15 (split in 4x8), qualified for WMass in the pole vault at 10-6. Agawam may have the potential WMass champ in the pole vault in a couple years. The 4x4 relay won. No suprise there.

D-Squad win events first meet against Chicopee Comp

The D-Squad were the maint point scorers in the first outdoor meet against Chicopee Comp. Mike Andre won the two mile in 10:40, and came in second in the 800m in 2:08. Ben Parzich won the mile in 4:58, winning by over 10 seconds. Ricky Schoolcraft came in first in the 800m in 2:07, and Matt Montano won the 400m in 54 seconds.

D-Squad runs PR's at MIAA Division 2 State Meet

The D-Squad finished off their Winter Track season strongly at the Division II State Meet. Junior Mike Andre, who throughout the season set 2 individual school records and 2 records in relays, ran to a ninth place finish in the 1000m. His time of 2:37.55 is the fourth fastest in the Pioneer Valley. Senior Ricky Schoolcraft ran to a 20th overall finish in the 600m with a good time of 1:28.51. Expect these two to dominate in the 800m for the upcoming Outdoor Track Season. Sophomore Tristan Cote opted not run the 600m, preferring to be fresh for the 4x4 relay where he ran an impressive opening split of 54 seconds. Junior Ben Parzich set a personal record in the mile, running a 26th place time of 4:47.68. He and Mike Andre were the the Agawams with sub a sub 4:50 mile for this season. Senior Matt Montano ran a PR time in the 300m, a team leading 38.49. His placed 23rd overall. The 4x8 ran to a time of 8:44.

D-Squad runs great at PVIAC Championships

The D-Squad ran to exceptional times and placements at WMass. Mike Andre ran the 1000m, tying his old school record PR with a 2:39 with the highest boys individual finish of fourth place. Matt Montano ran the 300m, and placed fifth at WMass, tying his old PR of 38. Ricky Schoolcraft ran a gutsy 600m, running to a 1:29 fifth place after being boxed in at the beginning of the race. Tristan Cote qualified for States, and PR'ed with a time of 1:30. If only he did Cross Country. Ben Parzich PR'ed in the mile, running a 4:49. Tyler Roberts, not wanting to exacerbate an injury, opted to skip the mile and instead ran the anchor leg in the 4x4 relay. The boys 4x8 ran to a fifth place finish in the 4x8, which consisted of Ricky, Mike, Matt and Ben. Ricky had the fastest 800m split with a 2:07. The boys team overall finished 12th. The female D-Squad also ran impressive times, with junior Taylor Lunden (soccer player) winning the 1000m overall with a time of 3:10. Junior Ashley Monahan ran to a second place finish in the 600m with a time of 1:40. The girls 4x8 finished first overall, and the girls team finished 5th overall.

Andre sets school record in 1000m, Montano wins 300m, PVIAC Meet #5

Mike Andre set his fourth school record for Agawam, this time in the 1000m. He ran to a third place finish with a time of 2:39.60. He beat the old mark set by Connor Rieker in 2008, which was 2:41. His time is currently the fourth fastest in the league. Ben Parzich qualified for WMass in the two mile, with a time of 10:55. He also ran well in the 1000m, with a time of 2:55. Matt Montano won the 300m for the Pioneer Valley Division for the second time this season, running a 38.68. Kevin Urban ran the mile in 5:19.72, while Patrick Rieker ran a 5:25. Freshmen Weston Asselin improved greatly in the mile, running an impressive time of 5:29.

Andre qualfies for States in Mile, Montano in the 600m, PVIAC Meet #4

The D-Squad continued to make some noise in the distance events. Matt Montano ran to a third place finish in the 600m with a team leading time of 1:28.55. This qualfied him for the State tournament. If not for a rough start, it could have been a second or two faster. Mike Andre ran to a fourth place finish in the mile. The race was an exciting one as the top four were only five seconds apart from each other. His state qualifying time of 4:45.65 leads the team. Tyler Roberts ran a time of 4:55.67. Patrick Rieker ran an impressive mile time of 5:19, shaving 6 seconds off his PR in three days. State qualifier in the mile, Ben Parzich ran the 1000m and qualified for WMass with a time of 2:51. Tristan Cote continued to run well in the 600m, getting a time of 1:33. Juniors Dom Groux and Kevin Urban ran even 1000m times of 3:02. Freshmen Weston Asselin wasn't far off, running a very good time in the 1000m with a 3:06. Cameron Czerpack ran the two mile in 13:02. The 4x4 was highlighted by Mike Andre's leading split of 52.9.

Montano qualfies for States in 300m, PVIAC Meet #3

The D-Squad tried new events at the third regular season meet at Reggie Lewis. Mainly due to get some rest after the relays that were held two days prior. Matt Montano qualified for states in the 300m in his first time ever running the event. He won the 300m overall, and currently has the third fastest 300m in WMass. Ricky Schoolcraft, and Ben Parzich took a day of rest. Mike Andre and Tyler Roberts ran in the 4x2, mainly to get a sprint in. Andre ran the fastest split in 24.4, which according to Pryce is the fastest 200m split for Agawam in the past two years. Tyler ran a 27 second split, which would have been at least a second faster if had not been for Amherst cutting the relay off. Sophomore Patrick Rieker continued to PR in the mile, running a time of 5:25. Freshmen Weston Asselin ran a 5:41, tying his old PR from Meet #2. Tristan Cote qualified for WMass in the 600m with a time of 1:34. Junior Kevin Urban ran the 1000m with a PR of 3:02.

4x8, 4x4 Records set at Reggie Lewis.

The D-Squad made their marks on Agawam Track history at the Reggie Lewis State Relays, setting new school records in the 4x8 and the 4x4. Both relays consisted of, in the same order, Senior Matt Montano (soccer player), Junior Ben Parzich, Senior Ricky Schoolcraft, and Junior Mike Andre. They won there heat in the 4x8 with a time of 8:34. Montano and Parzich both ran 2:11. Schoolcraft gave a lead with a 2:07, and Andre sealed the lead by more than 200m in a PR of 2:05. They ran the 4x4 later, with a time of 3:39 (At the time, the leading 4x4 in the pioneer valley division). Matt Montano grabbed the lead in a leading split of 53.6 and they never looked back.

Parzich and Schoolcraft qualify for States in PVIAC Meet #2.

The D-Squad continued to run very well for Agawam, with Senior Ricky Schoolcraft qualifying for states in the 1000m with a time of 2:47. This brings the school record (2:41 by Connor Rieker) in reach. Junior Ben Parzich qualfied for states in the mile, running a PR 4:51. Tyler Roberts missed the states standard by the skin of his teeth, running a PR of 4:52. Mike Andre broke PR'ed in the two mile, as well as lowering his own school record in the two mile, getting fifth with a time of 10:16. The 4x4 relay which consisted of Schoolcraft, Roberts, Parzich and Andre ran to a fourth place finish with a time of 3:46. Tristan Cote ran a slightly slower time in the 600m (1:37) than last week, mainly due to getting boxed in at the beginnig at the race. Dom Groux ran the 1000m for the first time, running a time of 3:11. Sophomore Pat Rieker PR'ed in the mile for the second week in a row, with a time of 5:28. Freshmen Weston Asselin ran an impressive freshmen time in the mile, running a 5:41. Cameron Czerpak PR'ed in the two mile with a time of 13:02. An improvement by over 20 seconds from last week. Times should only get faster.

Agawam D-Squad runs well at PVIAC Meet #1.

In the first Indoor Track meet of the season, the D-Squad (distance team, 600m and up) ran very impressive times. Mike Andre carried on where he left off from his state qualifying cross country season, setting the new indoor 2 mile record in 10:22.99. He broke the old record held by Kevin Clark by less than a second. He also qualified for States in the 600m with a time of 1:29 in his first time running the event. He came in second in both. Ben Parzich and Tyler Roberts qualified for WMass in the mile, with Tyler running 4:56 and Ben with a 4:58. They intend on getting states the next meet. Sophomore Pat Rieker ran a PR 5:29 mile. Seniors Richard Schoolcraft and Matt Montano (soccer player) ran the 1000m, and qualified for WMass in that. Ricky ran a 2:54, after running an 11:02 in the two mile as a warm up. Montano ran a 2:50. Both intend on qualifying for states. Kevin Urban ran a PR 3:08 in the 1000m. Other times to note were that of sophomore Tristan Cote (soccer player), who missed qualifying for WMass by less than a second in his first ever 600m race (1:36). Freshmen Weston Asselin also ran well in the 600m, and freshmen Cameron Czerpak ran a good time in the two mile. Things are looking bright for the D-Squad, and expectations are high for them.

Varsity boys get 8th at WMass, Andre and Monahan qualify for States.

Juniors Mike Andre and Ashley Monahan qualified for the State Meet by finishing among the top individual finishers. Andre ran a time of 17:47.

Varsity boys finish Seventh at PVIAC.

The varsity boys managed to get three runners under 17. Junior Mike Andre led Agawam with a time of 16:08, and a twelth place finish. Senior captain Tyler Roberts was the next Agawam runner, finishing 29th with a time of 16:47. Junior Ben Parzich rounded the sub 17 men with a 34th place finish with a time of 16:55. Senior Ricky Schoolcraft came close, he came in 48th overall with a time of 17:18. Juniors Michael O Connor and Kevin Urban both ran even PR times for the second race in a row, both getting times of 18:25. They both were caught up in a crash at the beginning of the race that no doubt hindered there times. Juniors Jeremy Kapinos and Dom Groux were also caught in the fall, but managed to PR none the less. Jeremy getting an amazing newcomer time of 18:41. Dom came in right behind at 18:43. The Boys finished seventh overall in the Varisty race.

Mike Andre sets junior Course record, Monahan comes close in dominant regular season finale against CC.

It was a great day for AG XC at their final regular season meet against Chicopee Comp. Junior Mike Andre set a new junior course record at 17:27. Beating the previous record held by Kevin Clark by 6 seconds. He wanted the record at the beginning of this season and attained it in a grand fashion. All that's left is overall record. Junior Ben Parzich was second overall with a great time of 17:56. Two juniors sub 18 only means great things for next season. Tyler Roberts came back strong after battling a case of injuries the later part of the season to run the course in 18:03. Ricky Schoolcraft was right behind him in 18:07. Juniors Michael O Connor and Kevin Urban both swapped the 5 and 6 spots overall, both getting a time of 19:01. Junior Dom Groux was the number seven boy with a time of 19:36. Junior Newcomer Jeremy Kapinos was number 8 with a time of 19:44. Senior Matt Settembro got ninth (19:46). Sophomore Patrick Rieker got tenth overall with a time of 19:49. The top ten overall sub 20, on Agawam's course none the less. Agawams boys finished the season 8 - 4. It was also a great day for the girls as junior Ashley Monahan came within 6 seconds of the overall school record with a time of 21:13. Freshmen Megan Dustin was second in 21:49. Sophomore Gina Lopez was third (23:13). Junior Amy Grindle was fourth (23:26). Senior Brooke Walsh was fifth (23:39). Freshmen Haley Piotrowski was sixth (24:10). Junior Zoly Santiago was seventh (24:27). Junior Mary Molloy was eighth (25:27). Junior Kelly Bronson was ninth (25:36) and senior Briana Hurley was tenth (25:48). The girls captured the league title while finishing with a great 11 - 1 record.

Agawam Boys, Girls sweep against Belchertown, Palmer.

Agawam captured two more wins vs. Belchertown and Palmer on a challenging 2.99 mile course (could it have been .11 miles longer it could be comparable to our home course). Ashley Monahan and Megan Dustin came in 2nd and 3rd to help secure the win for the girls. Staying atop the division for the season. Mike Andre won the race for the boys in his first victory of the season. He ran it in 16:31. Junior Ben Parzich was second overall with 16:43. Senior Ricky Schoolcraft was third (17:15). Junior Mike O Connor was fifth (17:41). Junior Kevin Urban was eighth (18:07) and junior Dom Groux rounded out the top ten (18:15). The guys record now stands at a respectable 7-4.

Agawam boys and girls sweep in quad meet.

Agawam 25, West Springfield 32

The boys and girls each came away with 3 wins vs. West Springfield, Gateway, and Turners Falls. Junior Ashley Monahan came away with her second win on the 2.6 mile course in 17:22, followed by Freshmen Megan Dustin in 3rd place. In the boys race, Junior Mike Andre finished in 2nd place in 14:11, followed by Junior Ben Parzich in third place(14:25) Senior Ricky Schoolcraft in 5th place(14:50), Senior Tyler Roberts' first post-injury race in 6th place(14:52) , and Kevin Urban in 10th with a solid 15:48 to secure the win and leave the boys with a decent 5-4 record. Expectations are still higher than ever.

Agawam Boys finish 11th out of 50 at Wickham, 22nd for Girls

In the boys Unseeded Varsity race at Wickham, Agawam made a statement to other 49 teams that raced. Mikie Andre finished 13th overall with a time of 17:33. Earning him a trophy in the process. Ben Parzich ran an impressive time on the challenging course in 18:22, and Ricky Schoolcraft(entering his second straight year with a messed up name, spelt "Teamcraft" this time) scratched the top 50 with a time of 18:29. Dom Groux ran well, getting 19:58. With other three top 7 spots open due to conflicts and injuries, underclassmen Patrick Rieker (20:13, in place of Kevin Urban), Chad Joyal (22:56, in place of Tyler Roberts) and newcomer Junior Jeremy Kapinos (20:48, in place of Michael O Connor) ran well and helped Agawam to a top 15 finish. Kevin Urban, a normal top 5 runner who was unable to run in the Varsity race because of a marching band conflict, coasted to a 5th place finish in the JV race with a time of 19:50. Weston Asselin was the leading freshmen for Agawam in the freshmen race. He ran the 4k course in 18:02 and finished 67th overall. The Girls Varsity also ran exceptionally well in the Seeded race, and Meghan Dustin finished ninth overall in the freshmen race.

Monahan finishes first for Girls, Andre gets fourth for Boys, in dual meet against Amherst, Sci-Tech

Ashley Monahan won her first varsity race against Amherst, running the 3.1 mile course at Forest Park in 21:20. Edging for first place in a tight Amherst pack that overall beat Agawam. The boys experienced a similiar meet as the girls as they lost against Amherst. A trio of Amherst runners took the first three spots, with Mikie Andre coming in three seconds behind them (17:29) for number 4. Ben Parzich continued to run well for Agawam, running 8th overall with a time of 17:44. Normal top 3 runner and Co-Captain Tyler Roberts was out with an injury. Ricky Schoolcraft finished 10th overall with a time of 18:29. Kevin Urban came in 13th with a time of 19:00. The bottom Varsity 7 were rounded out by Patrick Rieker in his first sub 20 5k and Dom Groux.

Girls win, Boys fall in meet against Holyoke

Girls: Agawam 15, Holyoke 50 Boys: Agawam 30, Holyoke 26

Newcomers Megan Dustin and Ashley Monahan continue to experience dominance in Agawam XC as they formed a very sound 1-2 punch against Holyoke. Many other Agawam girls rounded out the top ten. The boys, like the first meet, didn't fare to well against Holyoke in what was a very slow paced race. Holyoke's Cody Hodgins won the race in 17:30, while Mikie Andre (17:47) and Ben Parzich (17:52) managed to get the third and fourth place finishes. Tyler Roberts got fifth overall with a time of 18:08. And Ricky Schoolcraft (18:19) got seventh overall. The bottom seven was rounded by 11th place finisher Kevin Urban (18:55), 12th place Michael O Connor (18:58).

Agawam dominates The Duck Races

Agawam dominated all four races at Ted Dutkiewicz memorial race, a tributary invitational meet. They managed to put four people in the top ten in all of the races. Mikie Andre (16:16) dominated the 2.96 mile course and was the leading Agawam time and third overall behind West Springfield's Tim Shea and Holyoke's Cody Hodgins. Senior Co-Captain Tyler Roberts (16:26) was second for Agawam and fourth overall. Junior Ben Parzich got seventh overall (16:37), and Co-Captain Ricky Schoolcraft (16:43) got ninth overall. Kevin Urban (17:36) got 15th overall in the Varsity race, and managed to outkick a Holyoke runner for the hypothetical winning point of 27-28. Junior Dom Groux (18:40) and sophomore Patrick Rieker (18:42) rounded out the boys Varsity Seven.

The Junior Varsity boys enjoyed sucsess as well, as Matt Settembro (19:34) finished fifth overall. Freshmen Weston Asselin (19:54) manged to get sixth overall in the JV race. Dennis Reardon (19:56) was close behind for a seventh place finish. Erek Brown (20:16, a sophomore newcomer was ninth overall.

The Girls saw an amazing race in the varisty as freshman Megan Dustin (20:15) and junior Ashley Monahan (20:45) came in second and third overall. Newcomer Amy Grindle (21:50) and Gina Lopez (22:07 rounded out the top ten overall at nine and ten. Bree Hurley got thirteenth overall (23:17), followed by Emily Fish (23:40) and Mary Molloy (25:32).

Agawams best race arguably came in the Girls JV as freshmen Haley Piotrowski (23:56) came in first overall, followed by a fourth place finish by Kelly Bronson, fifth place by Kali Thomas, sixth place by Emily Renaud, seventh place by Monique Groux, eight place by Taylor Karela, and ninth place by Emily Langolis.

Agawam Girls sweep, Boys lose in tough meet at home against Westfield, Chaug

Girls: They beat both teams.

Agawam Girls got off to a very strong start this season as they swept both Westfield and Minnechaug. Newcomers Megan Dustin and Ashley Monahan finished two and three to all but secure the meet. Senior Brooke Walsh came in seventh and newcomer Amy Grindle came in tenth. The boys faced a little bit of difficulty, losing to both teams. Tyler Roberts came in first for Agawam and sixth overall with a time of 18:19, juniors Mikie Andre (18:23) and Ben Parzich (18:29) were close behind with seven and eight finishes overall. A few PR's to note were that of Kevin Urban and Michael O Connor (19:51 and 19:59) were both PR's by a minute and finished fifth and sixth for the team. Dom Groux finished seventh for Agawam with a time of 21:10. The most noteworthy improvement was that of sophomore Patrick Rieker who obliderated his old Course PR by four minutes in a time of 21:20 which was good enough for eighth for Agawam. This earned him the runner of the week award.

Strong Start for Brownie Harriers

Agawam 17 Chicopee 49

Agawam has gotten off to a great start. They beat Chicopee High 17-49 and Chicopee Comp 19-44. Versus Comp Kevin Clark, Chris Tierney, and Jason Olbrych ran together in 18:05. "My political views on the meet is...that it was a joke. And I am not the only one laughing," said Jason Olbrych. What a clown. Other strong performances came from Zack Matys who ran a PR on the course in 19:05. He was fourth, a Chicopee runner took 5th, and Mike Andrews, Brian Roberts, Mitch Krach, and Tom Goodrow came in the next 4 spots. Agawam also took then next 171 spots.

Agawam 19 Chicopee Comp 47

Versus Comp Agawam made a statement. At Chicopee State Park Kevin Clark set a course record of 16:20 for the win. Steve Czupryna from Comp finished second in 16:33. Jason Olbrych (16:46) and Chris Tierney (16:54) also broke 17 minutes. According to the Comp coach this was the first time a single team put 3 guys under 17, quite an accomplishment. Zack Matys also ran a 5k PR of 18:38. Mike Andrews came in 6th in 19:23 (pr), 7th was Brian Roberts in 19:50 (pr). 6 guys under 20 minutes. Tom Goodrow (20:14), and Mitch Krach (20:23) were also very close.

Agawam 18 Northampton 39

Kevin Clark with the first opportunity to completly unleash on our course ended up running a 17:10 which breaks the old course record held by Jesse Regnier by 12 seconds. Chris Tierney (17:45), and Jay Olbrych (17:46) completed the 1,2,3 sweep. Zach Matys(18:54, 5th place), Mike Andrews (20:23, 7th place), Brian Roberts (20:45, 9th place), and Tom Goodrow (22:04, 12th place) rounded out the top 7 for Agawam

Duck Races

Kevin Clark (17:06), Jay Olbrych (17:23), and Chris Tierney (17:29) led a 1,2,3 sweep at an invitational meet with 10 teams in it. Zach Matys (18:08, 8th place) and Mike Andrews (18:58, 14th place) rounded out the top 5 with an amazing 28 points. Brian Roberts (19:47, 24th place), and Tom Goodrow (20:01, 27th place) also had great races. The JV also dominated with Mitch Krach winning the race and Josh Dion coming in 3rd but the JV results were never updated on the website so i dont know their times or anybody else's

Agawam 18 West Springfield 38

Clark (17:25), Olbrych (17:45), and Tierney (17:46), again went 1,2,3. Matys (18:38, 5th place), Andrews (19:10, 7th place), and Goodrow (20:50, 10th place) were in the top five for Agawam. Jeremy Laverdiere came in 4th for visiting Westside with a time of 17:56.

Agawam 15 Holyoke 48

The Agawam pack of runners competly embarrased Holyoke by going 1-6 on them. The lead pack of Matys, Andrews, Clark, Tierney, and Olbrych all finished the 2.5 mile course in 14.41. Brian Roberts came in 6th for Agawam with a time of 15:05, and Tom Goodrow was our 7th man with a time of 15:33 in 9th place.

Agawam 16 Minnechaug 46

Kevin Clark beat his own course record by a second and ended up with a 17:09. Clark was followed by Olbrych (17:40), Tierney (17:45), and Matys (18:33), led the 1,2,3,4 sweep against Minnachaug. Andrews(18:58, 6th place), Roberts(19:47, 7th place), and Goodrow (20:26, 9th place) were in the top 7 for us.

2003

Kevin Clark runs at State Meet

For the 3rd year in a row Agawam sent a runner to the All-State XC Meet. This year it was held on our wmass course at Northfield. Kevin broke into the top 100 but ran a slightly slower time then at WMASS. It was a great experience for all who attended.

Agawam finishes 8th at WMASS

Kevin Clark placed 12th and qualified for states. Jay Olbrych placed 25th and Chris Tierney placed 36th. Nick Gurau was fourth at 64th. Zach Matys was our fifth man with a solid 75th position. Zach battled injuries all year and pulled out a gutsy performance.

Agawam finishes 10th at PVIAC

For the second year in a row Agawam finished 10th at the PVIAC meet held by Coach Atkinson at Southwick. Kevin Clark and Chris Tierney ran very well.

Amherst 17 Agawam 39

Brian Hunt finished first for Amherst, followed by James Dietz and Dan Lesser. Kevin Clark finished fourth in 17:33. Amherst got 5,6. Jay Olbrych, Chris Tierney and Nick Gurau finished 7,8,9.

Agawam 21 West Springfield 37

Jeremy Liverdiere picked up another duel meet victory for West Side. Jay Olbrych finished second. Chris Tierney finished 3rd and Nick Gurau placed 4th.

Agawam 17 Holyoke 39

We finished 1,2,3 with Kevin Clark, Jay Olbrych and Chris Tierney.

Clark places 25th at Wickham Park Invite

Kevin Clark ran in the low 17s to finish 25th in the Wickham Park Invite. Results were never made available online so there isn't much more to say. Jay Olbrych ran well also.

Agawam 26 Minnechaug 29

Kevin Clark extended his unbeaten streak to five meets. Jay Olbrych also ran his PR 5K by five seconds. Tierney and Zordani finished 6-7. Mitch Krach came through huge finishing 10th and held off a Minnechaug guy. This meet was much closer then expexted but we got the win.

Agawam 23 Chicopee Comp 36

Kevin Clark extended his unbeaten streak to four meets. He also beat some of the best runners in the area, Joe and Steve Czypryna. He also broke Mike DeFilippi's junior record (17:49) by running 17:33. Jay Olbrych also ran a PR on our course (18:25). Chris Tierney rested and this meet saw the return of Zach Matys, Matt Zordani and Bryan Lane to competition.

Agawam 21 Northampton 34

Agawam picked up the biggest win so far this season against Northampton at the Community Gardens in Northampton. 1/4 mile away from the meet was Governor Mitt Romney also. Agawam had an impressive 1,2,3 finish with Kevin Clark cruising for a 17:16 win. Jay Olbrych and Chris Tierney both crushed their PR 5Ks and beat an impressive field of runners from Hamp. Mitch Krach also broke through breaking 20 (19:48).

Kevin Clark wins Duck Race Invite!

In what has been the greatest highlights in Agawam XC history, Kevin Clark beat out some of the best guys in the area to win the stanley park invite. Clark ran a PR 5K of 17:03, clipping almost a minute off his previous best 5K. He has now joined the elite group of runners and will hopefully give us a chance against Amherst this year now. Jay Olbrych finished 7th in 18:10 and Chris Tierney finished 8th in 18:10. Results are available by clicking Here

Agawam 15 Chicopee 48

This was a great meet. Just about everyone ran a PR 5K time. We swept the top 5 spots and the top 4 ranged from 18:00 (Kevin Clark) to 18:18 (Jay Olbrych). Bryan Lane took 3.5 minutes off his time last year and Frank also improved greatly. We are nearly 100% and will be getting our #5 and #6 runners in place soon. Agawam 24 Ludlow 31

The opening meet went well. The boys hung on 24-31 and the girls won 27-29. Jesse Regnier set the new course record of 17:22 nipping Mike DeFilippi's old course record by less than a second. For a full summary and results click the link.

News

Everyone had a solid outdoor track season. We finished second in the 4 by one mile relay with a time of 19:13 at the Steele Relays. Kevin Clark finished 3rd in the WMASS One Mile with a time of 4:43.
