A * means that this artifact's statistics already includes the Magical Metal bonuses.
These new weapons reflect the same system presented in the Exalted base core book on page 341. I just felt that there were some obvious artifact weapons that were missing. These represent the other types of weapons forged with the Five Magical Materials including knives (goreknives), clubs and staves (Dire Staff), short spear and spears (grimspear), as well as dragon swords (elemental dragon sword). All of these weapons, except the goreknife, have a setting for a hearthstone. The commitment value of these weapons are 5 motes. As always, these statistics change depending on which of the Five Magic Metals it is made with.
You may have noticed that I eliminated the Gorehammer from the listing, since White Wolf released the Dragon-Blooded Errata that has their version. I felt that it would be much better to follow the creator's words than my own.
Level 1 Artifacts
The Messenger Ring
This small ring made with green jade holds little ornamentation. Smooth and well polished, it grants the person attuned to it two dice to any Socialize roll. When touched to a pack animal, such as a horse or mule, it doubles its speed for an hour. The attunement cost for this ring is one mote for a Terrestial Exalted. This particular ring was made in Chiaroscuro. It was Alucard's first attempt at crafting magical artifacts.
Level 2 Artifacts
Dark Seeing Skull
This ancient human skull is inscribed with orichalcum runes in a dialect of the Old Realm. Those that can speak the language may attempt to translate the runes with a difficulty 3 task. They require 20 successes to establish the dialect. When translated, the skull states, "I have eyes to see in the darkness." What powers the skull holds is still unknown. Its current bearer is Alucard. He found the skull in the tomb of the Solar, Jeralith, near the Lap. The cost to attune this skull is 5 motes for a Solar Exalted.
Level 4 Artifacts
The Brass Key
This large brass key with a an end shaped like a large bell. Using the key to open any door will open a door to Malfeas. The portal will cease as soon as the door is closed. Note: This is a one way trip. You must find an exit out of Malfeas on your own. This artifact was hinted at in Games of Divinity, pg. 90.
Gold Tooth Knife
This orichalcum goreknife was created by the Solar, Jeralith. In the hands of any Solar, it acts as a normal goreknife made orichalcum. In the hands of a Twilight Caste, it gains additional powers. The Gold Tooth Knife grows to the length of a short sword although remains the weight and balance of a goreknife. It statistics change to +3 Speed, +2 Accuracy, +4L Damage, and +2 Defense (this includes all bonuses from magical metal type, goreknife statistics, and special bonuses). Also, once per day the Gold Tooth Knife allows you garner from the knowledge collected in the knife, granting you an additional six dice towards a Lore roll. The Gold Tooth Knife requires 5 motes to attune it to a Solar Exalted.
Ten Winds
Ten Winds is a rarity among wavecleaver daiklaives. Created by the Terrestrial Exalted Peleps Canisatra for his finacee, the renowned captain of Empress' Smile, this blade was a symbol of love and strength. Peleps Canisatra dabbled in sorcery, as well as crafting, which resulted in Ten Winds' powers.
Ten Winds can be held only by a Terrestrial Exalted. If unattuned and touched by a mortal or Celestial Exlated, Ten Winds will deliver the equivalent of a knockout blow. The offending person will be unconscious for over one hour before they recover. This stunning does not cause actual damage; it just causes severe headaches.
When Ten Winds is attuned, this wavecleaver daiklaive becomes extremely dangerous. Ten Winds has the ability to increase the winds in the surrounding area as if using a blue storm sapphire. Use the chart in the Savage Seas book pg.125 for the mote and willpower expenditures. You do not need to sacrifice health levels to change the winds using this daiklaive.
Ten Winds has three Heartstone settings within its blade and hilt. It costs seven motes to attune the daiklaive. Ten Winds statistics can be seen by clicking here.
