Fundraisers

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'" -Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

We haven't been doing as many fundraisers lately since we are not going on a big trip this summer. But here are a few updates.

Chilli Feed- March 18, 2000

The carmel rolls every 1st and 3rd Sunday have been doing wonderful. Thank you to all the parents who have been baking and all of the members of the congregation who have made this fund raiser a great success.

On Sunday, September 27, 1998 we hosted the Bishop's Luncheon, to benifit our trip to Global Gathering. The bishop was in town preaching because it was the ground breaking for the new remodling. Almost everyone got to through a shovel of dirt, and afterwards everyone went downstairs to the beautifully decorated fellowship hall.

The cenntenial committee had people donate things they had from foreign countries to decorate the tables.

    The meal consisted of:
  • Vegetable salad
  • Turkey Wild Rice soup
  • Rolls
  • Celery and Carrot sticks
  • International desserts made by members of the church

Everyone complimented the meal and the servers. We had a free will offering. We also sold the recipies for the desserts for $.25 each. In the end we made $700.00!!! That's the most we have made at a meal ever. (If you would like the recipies just email me at the address below for no charge)

Other fundraisers for our trip included:
  • Stock Sale- sell shares of stock in our trip for $5 to $10. We invite our shareholders to the Shareholder's Meeting where we tell them about our trip and how their money will be used. On our trip, we send them postcards thanking them for investing in our trip. After we return home, we invite them back for another Shareholder's Meeting where we show them pictures, tell stories and share with them what we learned on our trip.
  • Carmel Roll Sales before and after church
  • Buy a Mile
  • Rummage Sale
  • Rock-a-thon, we have people give us money for rocking in chairs for 12 hours during the night.

  • Sell, sell, sell! (candles, wreaths, bulbs, candy, etc.)
  • Fill a film canister with quarters (sever dollars worth fits in one canister, if 50 people participate- 50 x $7 = $350)
  • Carwash
  • Food/Pop booths at Art in the Park, Fourth of July, etc.
  • Aluminum can collection
  • Silent Auction
  • Yard Clean up (Rent-A-Kid)
    Meals:
  • Chilli Feed
  • Breakfasts
  • Spaghetti Dinner
  • Bishops lucheon
  • Style show
