JUANITA LAUGHLIN
Who says you have to stockpile a string of number one hits and travel the nations freeways in big silver
buses on tour to be called a success in the music business. There are many of looking and measuring
success. For Juanita Laughlin success has come from the recognition she has received from her great
rendition of Home Ads brown beans and ham. Opry audiences and Opry stars delight in the very
mention of this fine concoction. After joining the Opry in April of 1998, it wasn’t very long before
Juanita was loved and cherished by one and all and she became a regular sight in the main stream of
people at the Opry. A superb cook and a great talent, Juanita is always in great demand as a session
concession worker. With her enormous legacy of great cooking and fine personality Juanita is has come
to find out that music is a lot like food, it’s sustenance. So it’s no wonder that Juanita is so looked
upon by friends and foe alike. There's always a refreshing atmosphere when Juanita is around and you
can’t help but smile as she enters a room. All in all it’s been a rather diverse trail for this little
Northview, Missouri women to hoe, but she has done a great job and she has faced tragedy head-on with
the determination and the courage that so many would lack. She is no stranger to the heartaches of this
old world, but Juanita has always stayed strong and her faith and trust in the good Lord has never
wavered. Because of all her love, inspiration, and God given charisma, Juanita has gained a place at the
Opry and in many hearts that few will ever fill. Juanita has created a legacy that no women in country
music or in any kitchen around the country or ever will attain.
