A Glimpse

A Glimpse

You know me more than some
This is truly a delusion
Since most are quite dumb
To beneath my illusion
Very few have seen me
Most will die Before they see
Even a glimpse of deadly me
You may have seen a glimpse of me
But know that there is more to see
Than that slight glimpse of me
You know more than most can know
Your foot has touched where most can't go
You've seen what blinds the average man
You've touched what scalds the average hand
I know I over-rate myself
I'm a mere martal just like everyone else
But sometimes I look in the mirror and see
An immortal that looks just like me
And sometimes I wonder if others could see
What they would truly do to me
