Midsummer

Midsummer

A circle of pagans are dancing slow
Getting faster as they go
Building up power to greet the sun
They dance and sing, having fun
The drums have started to give their beat
Keeping the others on their feet
They all gain speed, and quicken their chanting
To worship their gods, they continue ranting
The beautiful moon is shining above
Giving the pagans a sense of love
It is their gods they adore
As they dance on the forest floor
Pagans and animals alike are drawn
To feel the power, to greet the dawn
For it is this day they are here to praise
It is Midsummer, with sun ablaze
The longest day of the year
All are gathered today to cheer
hurrah hurrah, hurray hurray
What a beautiful, powerful, day!
