James Monroe 5th President (1817-1825) Father of the Monroe Doctrine Initiated in St John's Regimental Lodge later into Willaimsburg Lodge N0. 6	Andrew Jackson 7th President (1829-1837) General in the "War of 1812" Nickname" "Old Hickory" Was Grand Master of Tennesse from 1822-1824	James K Polk 11th President (1845-1849) Governor of Tennessee Expanded the nation from "sea to shining sea" Laid the chief cornerstone of the Smithsonian
James Buchanan 15th President (1857-1861) Initiated: December 1l, 1816, Lodge No. 43, Lancaster, Pennsylvania Only Bachelor President	Andrew Johnson 17th President (1865-1869) Succeeded Lincoln after his Assassination First President Impeached but aquitted Only President to serve in the Senate after his presidential term	James Garfield 20th President (March-Setember 1881) Served in the Civil War Second President to be Assassinated Shot July 2, 1881 Died September 19, 1881
