Grand Worthy Advisor-Jennifer Mosier-Bellevue Athena Assembly #24 Mascot -"Eyeore and Friends" (We are all such Pooh fans)
Grand Travels began June 21. Elizabeth and Amanda, along with
Elizabeth's mother Marcia Imig, met up with the other Grand Officers and
Grand Reps for a week of visitations to all of the local Assemblies.
This was a great chance to get to know the "Grand Family" members and the girls across the state.
Betty Garwood was this year's sponsor and "Traveling Mom".
All of the Grand Family took along their mascots and each Assembly
presented them with a "keepsake" to attach to their "Winne the Pooh" stuffed animals.
Travels began on Sunday with a visit to Imperial Assembly
in the far west of the state, Imperial Assembly hosted a beach party at the lake.
We went tubing, and boating, then had a cookout. Saw the prettiest double Rainbow made just for us.
Monday morning we drove to the central part of the state.
Fullerton, Albion, and Havard Assemblies held an initiation, and did a wonderful job.
We had a delicious dinner and a pinata party, and a mosquito slapping competition.

Tuesday we went to Plainview Assembly. Plainview put on an initiation for the Grand Officers,
after the meeting we had a "Silly Supper", it was a lot of fun.
Amanda came home, and drove through a tornado-kinda scary.
Elizabeth stayed all night and went "cruising".
On Wednesday morning we had a "special surprise" from our "Traveling Mom". A traditional educational stop. We went to "Tar Box Hollow" a Bison Ranch. We rode in a covered wagon out to feed the Buffalo. (can't pet them-they get really angry), then on to South Sioux City and Lynn Broyhill Assembly, the home assembly of our "Traveling Mom", Betty Garwood. We had a luncheon and an initiation. We went dress shopping for our dresses for Grand Assembly next year. (please keep our secret).
On Thursday, we went to Lincoln Assembly where we had a quick lunch then an initiation. Then they held their addenda. (We are unsure of what exactly that was, we left early.) We later met fellow Rainbow Girls at the Holiday Inn in Omaha for Grand Bethel, Jobs Daughters. It was interesting to see because of the many diffences.
Friday morning we attended an initiation at Westside Assembly in Omaha. We had lunch afterwards. In the afternoon, we had a swimming party hosted by Benson Diana and Elkhorn-Waterloo Assemblies. April locked the keys in the van along with all the formals and the stuff for the addenda. Marcia went home to get an extra set, and we all got to Benson temple barely in time. Later that evening Benson and Elkhorn had a formal business meeting. After the meeting, we had ice cream sundaes. They had a "Pooh Coloring Contest", then some of the girls went to the fireworks display at Memorial Park.
Saturday morning we had breakfast at our temple. Then we went to Weeping Water, the home Assembly of our Supreme Deputy, Thelma Domingo. We rode in the parade, then went back to the temple for a formal meeting. After the meeting we were treated to one of Weeping Water's famous meals
Saturday evening we went to Athena Assembly in Bellevue, the home Assembly of our Grand Worthy Advisor, Jenn Mosier. They had an initiation and put on a cute addenda skit. After the meeting we had a delicious dinner.
We ended our Grand Travels on Sunday morning with breakfast at Athena. We had many memorable times at each assembly we visited. We, the Grand Family, had a blast trying to teach the adults our travel song! It was a short song to the tune of Vanilla Ice's song "Ice Ice Baby". They sorta caught on by the end of our travels.
We are all looking forward to travels next year. It always fun to see our fellow Rainbow Sisters, and seeing them doing their parts in their assemblies.
