Dapto Swimming Clubno.1 June 2003

President's Report 2002-2003

Thank you all of the volunteers that have helped throughout the year on Friday nights and when setting up for carnivals, help is always welcome.

This year the Dapto S.C. hosted the NSW Summer Country Regional Championships, and by all of the feedback that we have received, it was a very successful carnival. From these championships, NSW Swimming selected a team to attend a swim camp at Myuna Bay. Four of our swimmers were selected: Ben Carrick, Michael Neall Samantha Bates and Leisha Southwell.

Interclub was again hosted by our club this year, again with great results. The Club selectors seemed to have got it right again with the Dapto team scoring most points to win the championship. Well done team!

Our disabled swimmers are also dong well Vanessa Rushworth-Rossi qualifying for nationals and Julia Corderoy breaking national records.

During this past year, we have trailed winter point score and again from all reports it was a great success .

Lastly we must thank Auther Bristoe and the staff of the Dapto Pool for their continued support with our club and their assistance throughout the year.

Recorders Report for Summer Point Score 2002-2003

I would like to start by congratulating and thanking all swimmers/parents and helpers for their involvement and attendance throughout the 2002-2003 season pointscore, also a big congratulations and thankyou to all swimmers who represented the club at various carnivals throughout the year………..WELL DONE ALL !

For the second year we all had the opportunity to enjoy heated water during the early weeks of the pointscore season, and as usual the weather held true and we had regular Friday night rain.

We again had a good season, there were many championship/club records broken and many of the newer club members improved throughout the season featuring strongly in the pointscore trophies.

We again for the second year, ran the club championships in a per age format without a minor pointscore. This has again proved popular and positive feedback received with the exception of requests for the open category to be re-introduced.

We had a season, which saw large differences in swimmer numbers involved weekly, there were many who attended for the first few weeks then had a break before returning for the season completion, we again this season, had a few swimmers who attended during the early months of 2003, around school carnival time.

We also welcomed back the Ladies to the Over 18's after last season's absence.

Swimmers Capitations for 2003-03 where down slightly from last season, we had several regular/long term swimmers who did not return for the 2002-03 season.

Xmas Relay - There were 60 swimmers/entries, 6 teams for the Xmas Relay Handicap, the competition was strong, team Mouldies (guess who?) touched the wall first braking by a mere 65.55 seconds and subsequently being disqualified.
