GOSSIP GALORE
Canberra Trip: The Swimming Club Team away excursion was not only a huge success from a swimming point of view, but the "Seniors" enjoyed themselves too. Many would agree the real action occurred away from the pool, with the parents providing the majority of the entertainment. Here are some of the (non-swimming) highlights of the weekend:
While one group of parents visited a local shopping centre, another group sneaked away to an infamous district in Canberra "window shopping", or that’s what they said…however several brightly wrapped packages were discovered amongst their luggage later that night…hmmm
Everyone enjoyed eating at El Dorado’s Friday night (Photos on web)
Plenty of drinks, nibblies and heaps of laughs every night, however it was too much for one parent who after knocking over a glass or 2 of wine on Saturday night was last seen dragging a garbage bag across the room on her way to bed.
…And did you hear about the elite swimmer who discovered he had been attacked in the night with toothpaste, and then promptly searched in the dark for his attackers. He wiped toothpaste on the" perpetrator" only to discover (to his embarrassment) an unfamiliar "adult" voice exclaim, "Wrong One!" He had revenged himself on the attacker’s Mother! It must have been very dark!
A huge Thank-You is extended from the entire Club to our terrific Bus Drivers, Keith Parsons and Lou Scerri whose enormous efforts made the weekend so enjoyable.
