FROM THE PRESIDENTNotes from the president
First of all, let me say thank you to all of those who helped at our carnival on the 2nd December. Normally there is no great problem holding swimming carnivals, as you would have the attending clubs provide timekeepers for the day. Unfortunately, due to the small number of entries from other clubs, there was a lot of pressure placed on our club to fill the shortfall of timekeepers. But in typical Dapto Swimming Club style, all of the positions were filled and the carnival ran very well, and we achieved our main goal for the year, having the official opening of the pool heating to coincide with our carnival.

Last weekend, the Dapto S.C. hosted the South Coast & Tablelands S.A. Swimming Championships, and again I would like to thank all of those who helped with timekeeping, as Dapto did more than their share.

A reminder that Friday the 21st there will be no point score, as we will be having our Christmas party. We will however be having some relay events, including the Club Captain's relay.
Anyone who would like to take part in these relays are very welcome, and we would encourage anyone that can swim 50 metres to a club official tonight and record your name. Norbert

Congratulations to Toni and Steve on the birth of their baby daughter, Tazmin.

'Heated' Pool Grand Opening
A small crowd turned out for the grand opening of our heated pool Sunday the 2nd of December. Several councillors attended the opening, whilst Lord Mayor George Harrison officiated at the ceremony. Guest speakers included Councillor Vicki King & our own Kaine Love. Many of our 'retired' swimmers were present at the opening, participating in a special 50m sprint for the occasion. The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of a plaque in commemoration of the completion of Stage One: the heating of the pool. Photos of this event will be available on our web site in the near future.

Friday Night Point Score
Friday night Point Score commenced the 30th of November, and will run most Friday nights from 7:00 p.m. during the summer. Weekly points score results will be added to our web site soon.
