Clubroom Cleanup
In anticipation of the reopening of our new 'heated' pool, a working
bee has been organised to tidy up our clubroom. Volunteers are needed
from 8:30 a.m. Saturday the 24th. The more the merrier (and the quicker
we will finish up the job)! A BBQ breakfast will be served after the
event. See you there!
'Heated' Pool Grand Opening
John Gibbs from Wollongong Council confirmed the pool Official Grand
Opening will be taking place on the weekend of the 1st & 2nd of
December with a number of exciting events planned. Saturday the 1st
of December has been declared an Open Family Fun Day, with Council encouraging
families to come along and enjoy the new 'heated' facility.
The Official Opening Ceremony will be held during our Carnival on the
2nd, a number of keynote speakers and perhaps even a celebrity or two
may make an appearance during this event! Certainly, there will be a
lot of media hype promoting our Pool (and our Club) over the next few
weeks! Stay tuned!
Friday Night Point Score
Friday night Point Score commences the 30th of November. Registration
is scheduled from 5:00-6:30 p.m. with a 7:00 start for swimming events.

Dapto Summer Carnival
Our Swimming Carnival is Sunday December 2nd (Programme attached), in
collaboration with Council's Pool Grand Opening! Deadline for all carnival
entries: 23rd November, with Julie Glass.
As we are the 'hosting' club, all families are requested to bring along
a plate of savories or sweets (we need to provide lunch to the Technical
Officials).
Volunteers will also be needed on the day (time-keepers, setup, cleanup,
etc). Don't be shy, all help much appreciated! A Club BBQ will be held
after the carnival to celebrate the opening of our new heated facility!

"El Burro-Ringo"
Our first social function of the season was Saturday night, the 27th
of October at the Mexican restaurant: El Comidas in Dapto.
Special thanks to Tina Southwell for organising the evening, as everyone
seemed to enjoy it. It was nice to see some new faces - everyone is
always welcome to come to our social nights.
The food was hot & spicy, the conversation flowed along with the
amber fluids.
It was an early night for most of us, but for some, the night continued
on at the Leagues Club, into the wee hours of the morning. The general
feeling was that the night was a good one, and they all look forward
to many, many more! Julie Glass
