Structures
The arrival of Quersin Jax
signaled a huge building enterprise, leading to the construction of numerous
structures. While initially restricted to the planet itself, construction
has also cropped up on other planets throughout the system, despite their
inhospitability.
Baralou
Baralou houses numerous
structures on the planet's surface as well as under its ocean depths.
The first perminant structure was constructed by the Rebel Alliance in
its infancy, a harvesting platform for the oceanic flora that were havested
as food stuff. Since that time, the planet has seen an influx of
perminant structures.
Je' Vhrae
The city of Je'
Vhrae serves as the capitol city of Quersin Jax's empire. When Quersin
first began its design, he did not want anything akin to the city-world
of Corruscant, but instead more regal and elegant structures more akin
to those once found on planets like Alderaan and Naboo.
The city itself was designed
with a two-fold purpose. First, Quersin demanded that the layout
itself be devised in such a way as to complement it's surroundings. Second,
it should be capable of conveying the power of its ruler in such a way
as to intimidate visitors to the planet. With those two guidlines,
the city of Je'Vhrea was designed.
The skyline of the city
consists of gently curved, gleaming white buildings that appear almost
blindingly radiant against the light of the sun. The light of the moons
gives the city an irredescent glow. Structures along the walls are
designed to be gardens or atriums where plantlife from all over the galaxy
and brought. Among Quersin's favorites are several trees from the
planet Dathomir, initially gifts of Braiden Novalis.
The beauty of the city itself
contrasts greatly with Quersin's nature. Dark and destructive, the
fact that he could construct something to the scope of Je'Vhrae is bespeaks
of an aspect to his personality that has yet to visited.
The Great Citadel
The Great Citadel
serves as Quersin Jax's palace, housing his personal chambers as well as
sparing and training rooms, quarters for servants as well as personal armories
and the the like. Behind the temple is a massive arean-like structure
remeniscient of the Squal on Yinchorr that was used to train Imperial
Royal Guardsmen. Also here is a landing pad used for Lord Jax's personal
ship, though special visitors are sometimes allowed to use it as well.
The Great Library
The Great Library houses
the Brotherhood's archives, one of the largest sources of information pertaining
to Dark Side lore and Sith histories in the galaxy. Within the polished
architecture of the library, incredible amounts of data were stored electronically
and holographically. Sith scholars and investigators use the carefully
organized data to aid in their studies or their missions. Lining the main
hall are casts of some of the most revered and accomplished dark side practioners
in history.
The Great Library was actually
burned by Lolin Jenner shortly after Quersin's battle on Yavin IV, causing
many of the original manuscripts that it had contained to be lost.
Though the integrety of the structure itself was not compromised, Quersin
left the fire damage as a lesson to his followers.
The Great Temple
The Great Temple, modeled
after the largest structure on Yavin IV and Exar Kun's primary base of
operation, is a huge structure, its finish coated in an obsidian-like finish.
This temple, sealed off to all but the most senior of the Brotherhood,
houses ancient texts of Sith Lore too powerful to allow access by lower
level apprentices. This is also where the rituals of the order take
place.
Jedi Temple
This structure, an oddity
on a planet dominated by Sith architecture, is the home of the Dark Jedi
Karnor Jax, Quersin's younger brother. Though Karnor lives in this
structure alone, the temple itself is huge dominating a single island on
the other side of the planet.
This structure is an exact
replica of the Jedi temple that once housed the Jedi council on Corruscant.
A long, broad promenade leads the way to the Jedi Temple. The ziggurat
base and its crowning spires are an ancient design, constructed to symbolize
a Padawan's ascent to enlightenment. The kilometer-high structure is an
anachronistic sight to behold compared.
The centermost of the five
spires was designed to be the most sacred section of the building. Ancient
manuscripts, most forgeries though some are authentic, doccument the founding
of the ancient Jedi, though most pertain to various Dark Side sects that
have arisen over the millenium. The other four spires contain important
several chambers, initially designed for the various councils the Jedi
held. All but one remain empty.
Within one of the outer
spires is a replica of the chamber in which the High Council of the Jedi
Order, the governing body of the order. From its circular Council chamber,
a ring of 12 could hold court.
Elsewhere in the temple,
training facilities and private offices have been constructed. A well-stocked
library contains knowledge from across the galaxy. Advanced communications
arays and landing pads have also been built within the temple.
Other chambers within the
Jedi Temple include the Room of a Thousand Fountains, which features a
huge greenhouse, flowing waters and cascades. The temple also includes
lightsaber training areas and an area that provides views of giant holographic
star maps.
Twilight Academy
The first structure built
by Quersin Jax, the Twilight Academy lies deep beneath the ocean depths
under a transpasteel dome. Similar in design to the Jedi Temple of
Corruscant (and Karnor's own temple), the Academy has a much smaller scale,
a little over half the size. A ziggaraut structure with four pyres
around its base, the Academy was designed as a training ground for Sith
hopefuls, and now houses those who would seek admitance into the Brotherhood.
More details on the layout
of the Academy can be found under its section.
