He served in the revolutionary war. He participated in the Penobscot
Expedition, attached to the sloop Centurion.
His complete participation in the Rev. War is not entirely clear, due in
part to the existence of others with the name Edward Snow in that time frame.
That Penobscot Expedition participant was him is hardly refutable. However,
his participation may have been considerably greater than this. Cases in
point:
An Edward Snow entered Capt. George Webb's Company in Col. William Sheppherd's
Regiment of Continental Troops on April 15, 1777 and served until October 31,
1779. [Paine's Hist. of Harwich p.322] Capt. George Webb was a resident of
Harwich [Paine p.323]. This may have been a resident of Harwich, or it may
have been the current Edward Snow, I'm not sure.
He moved from Eastham to Orrington sometime between 1772 and 1786.

household. [Probably identities: Males over 16=Himself, sons Edward and
Daniel; males under 16=sons Sylvanus, William, Jabez; Females=wife Betty, daus.

Although the Snow genealogy didn't seem to mention it, she may have been the
"Mrs. Betsey Snow" who remarried to John Gould of Gorham and Hampden and
had Allen, John, Hannah, Lucy, Jabez, and an infant with him. This is taken
from History of Penobscot Co., p. 375. The son Jabez was born 7 Apr 1806.
He married Paulina Walker, dau. Aaron Walker, and had Laura, Lucy, Amasa (to
Calif.), Robert (to Wash.), Elizabeth, Charlotte, John. L.Asbury, David,
Clara & Dora. The husband, John Gould, died in 1875, and his wife Mrs. Betsey
(---)(Snow)Gould died many years before that (again, which is consistent with
the known death date for Edward's wife). This needs to be researched further.

married Solomon Lewis was born about 1742 in Boston, the daughter of William
and Elizabeth (OSBORN) MERRICK. He supplied me with the second possibility
above also, and confirmed that the first is indeed a possibility. (Confirmed
