6:49 So I succeeded in staying up all night in order that my internal clock be SOOO messed up that adjusting will be no problem at all. Or something like that. My logic is a little fuzzy on how that works- I know it does going to Europe, but I'm going the other direction. Maybe I just screwed up my body completely and I'm going to be a mess for the entire trip. Gosh, I hope not though. Oh well, what's done is done and I'll just have to deal with things as best as I can.
As I said, I stayed up all night. Finished packing at about 2 and was just going to drop my duffel bag off in Luke's room (he's transporting it back to MN for me), but I stayed and talked with him for half an hour or so. When the other person that was in the room with us went to bed, Luke got up to leave and asked if I wanted to come with to play a prank on someone. Loving such things, I immediately agreed. We went over to the building where they live and waited for a moment or three, but we heard the TV on and so we left before that person could come out and see us. Back to Luke's room it was to look over more pranks to play, and then we started reading Strongbad E-mails, and then we ended up watching a movie (Bandits- a great movie) to wait for the mark to fall asleep.
Of course, by the movie ended up being two hours long and by the time it was over it was 6 am. That didn't stop us, though. We went over there and got the tape all ready, and moved the things into place. But before we could carry the plan out, we heard noises from within. Luke jumped down off his supports and I made sure HE could get away (since he would be recognized, but I wouldn't) and then made a dash for it myself. We waited downstairs for the coast to clear, then went to see what had happened, if anything. The supports for Luke and for the... instrument... were still there, but the instrument itself was not. So we made the trek back to Coleman and got a new instrument, set it up, went back and... the instrument didn't work in its supports. As we were discovering this, however, the noises inside began again, so we had to do the same thing- Luke ran, then I ran. And we just kept running out the building, 'cause I had to go back to Plantz. Sigh. It was a fun night, though. Much better than if I had spent it say, reading in my room. And now I have to go catch the bus to the airport, so I can go to China! See you in a week, net-world!

23:45 Last night at dinner I had arranged to meet Elissa and Kyle for lunch. They had to go to Joy's office to pick up their graded stats finals, and I was going to check in with her for some post-finals releif. So after my econ final this morning (it went... eh.) I went up to her office, and handed her my "grade change form" (at the bottom of this page). She laughed so hard she almost cried. Then Kyle and Elissa arrived, and we got to talking... Kyle revealed that he was going to the sneak in to the faculty holiday party again this year, just as he did last year. Said he wanted to make something of a tradition of it. So Joy suggested that both Elissa and I go as well, and was giving us tips on how to go it. She suggested (or Kyle did, and she agreed) that we dress as the catering staff and get in that way, and no one would think twice about our being there. So this evening Kyle and I (Elissa wimped out) went over there, and indeed, blended right in. We spent the evening talking with Joy and Randall McNeil, as well as a few other people who stopped by occasionally (including
Kyle's coaches, Kathy Privatt and Joy's husband Mark, who seems like a really great guy). Then we stopped by the table of RHDs and said hello to Jen, our boss, and then left. It was great fun.
After the party I came back, made a few phone calls and watched a movie with Barb and Amanda. Now I have to pack, as I'm leaving for China at 8 am tomorrow.

16:21 One final down, two to go. Also, it still hasn't sunk in that I get to go to China in three days. Three days! Wow! I honestly cannot believe it. Wow.
Just came back from the library, where I had a lovely impromptu talk with Bill Dalsen, the new LUCC Parliamentarian. He's a great guy, very well informed and seems to have a broad range of interests. Fortunately for me, his interest at that moment was captured by a book he had just picked up on Chinese philosophical thought, and I had just finished my 2-course run on East Asian civilizations. So I was able to sound all smart and knowledgeable, and he seemed to know a fair amount about it, too. Really an interesting guy.

Went to the LCF Christmas party tonight. It was a lot of fun. I got to talk to a bunch of people I hadn't seen lately, or at least not as often as I'd like. I also got quite a few offers to dance, and had sooo much fun with that- I had washed my hair some three hours earlier, and it was all blond and loose and flew about whenever I turned. It was soo cool. And then during the annual "Bing Sing"- your own version of White Chrismas- I sang it in German. The winners were two boys who did it in the style of a Gregorian chant (most of it on one note, going a little up or down at the end). They also got the "Most holy and pleasing to God" award. (I got the "most fluent in german" award.) Then we sang carols, and everyone dispersed around 11:30.
Oh yes- also got my itinerary for China. If you're interested in knowing what it is (and it's either December or January), e-mail me.

17:43 So I've been told a few times that certain of my relatives check my webpage on at least an occasional basis. Since that's the case, I really should stop referring to people as filthy slut whores, even if I do include that cute little comic, and especially when that person happens to be my baby brother, to whom they are also related. Oops. Should, but probably won't.
So I just got back from my last debate tournament of the year. Which also means that I'll be getting my last paycheck of the year.... sigh. And I didn't remember to ask the head coach for the school I usually work for if he needs extra speech judges next term. Ooops. At least I have his e-mail address, and can get in touch with him that way. 'Cause I made some mad-ass money this term, and all I had to do was sacrifice part of my Saturdays and some Fridays, and I'd like to do the same again. WSS.
