Catoblepas in Greek means ‘that if which looks downwards’. This creature’s was a iron clad bull and it’s head was so heavy, that is constantly looked downwards. This being a good thing as it’s site could instantly kill anything, as well as it’s breath, this is similar to the Basilisk.
The Catoblepas was an African creature and ate poisonous shrubs and bushes. It is often compared to the Gnu, another
African creature which hold’s it’s head near the ground. Also in the middle ages the Catoblepas was often called a Gorgon, because of it’s ability to kill with site.

Catoblepas is an optional boss in Ultimecias castle. No idea what it looks like, you cannot see it's face, as thought it is facing the floor. Is found in the Treasure Vault. |
