1985 Subaru 1.8 EA82 SOHC Carbureted Motor fitted with a Weber 32/36 progressive Carb. Works great and delivers around 32 MPG on the high way. Excelent preformence in all conditions, but an expensive carburetor, but probably the best choice..Still need to mount the Alternater to complete this package.

Ok, here is our Subaru in all its glory ready to mate up with Donna's VW type 3 Full Automatic Transmission.

You will find these motors mostly at the Pick & Pull type yards. They are the older motors that are pretty much out of date now so most big yards won't even stock them at all. These motors were used mostly in all Subarus in 1985 to 1989. After that, they were in just one model up to 1993. Of course after 1986 they were all fuel injected motors. Do not let that bother you. The fuel injected motors are just as easy to work on your Trike as the Carbed motors. Actually, I prefer the Fuel injected ones, they don't have as much crap to remove. Basicly, the same motor. The difference is, you must make an adapter to mount your Carberetor of choice to the intake manifold. Not a big deal. The Weber is a great carb, but at $350 I have found a better way to go. For less than $100 in most cases, you can buy a re-manufactured old school Holly or Carter carburetor off Ebay that works just fine on these motors. All you need to do is fabracate an adapter to fit your carb to the manifold and your good to go
