1985 Subaru EA82 SOHC 1.8L Carbureted motor complete except for the Altanater and air conditioning compresser and belts
Not long after I first started building Trikes, and after our 1st long road trip, I began to think about what might be a better, more reliable motor for a Trike. After some research I began to see and hear about the Subaru motor. From all I could find, it seemed like the perfect choice. There was an adapter available for it. It produces just about twice the horse power as a stock VW, and is very similar in size and doesn't weigh a great deal more than the VW. So off to the junk yard I went. What you see here is what I came home with.
At this point in my Trikeing experience, I have 2 whole Trikes to my experience and in progress with number 3 that would be Donna's 1st full automatic Trike being built from the partial frame I got from the rip off artist.
After completing Donna's Trike, I decided to build a Trike to sport this goofy looking Subaru Motor. Now you must understand, I'm no gear head. I have had very little experience dealing with the mechanics of motors in general. I always did some of my own tune ups and such, but that was about it. I've never really spent much time actually working on motors. Just looking at this motor, made me nervous
